    that's really funny.

I did the same exact thing with DK, with the same single! And then I worked on the rest of the guys from there.

Got DK in 97/98 (on his picture), Jeff in 1999 with 3 Fish (on his picture), Stone in 2001 with Brad (on the cd), Eddie in 2006 after a PJ show (on the cd), Stone again in 2006 (on his picture this time)...and then finally, about 10-11 years after the first signature, outside of the beacon theater...I finally met mike and got him to sign both his picture and the cd! haha

    -seth

that's the kind of thing that makes a piece more special imho. the adventure and the story are a big part of its value.

Hi all, I am the OP's brother who gave him this guitar.

After reading the replies it is now my gut feeling that this item is not genuine as I do not believe so many could get it wrong. I have plenty of experience in listening to the band but unfortunately none whatsoever in collecting signed memorabilia.

For that reason I done some lengthy searching prior to purchasing this item and although I realised that there is always a risk associated with this type of purchase I purchased it through what I believed to be a fairly reputable online store.

To say I am gutted for my brother is the ultimate understatement but the feeling of injustice is now far outweighing the feeling of denial.

I paid around $600 for this item which was originally $1200 and I now am seeking any advice available.

Does anyone know of this dealer?
Does anyone know how I can prove the item not to be genuine?
Does anyone know of any good dealers in these items to enable me to get him a replacement?

best way to tell in this case...

see if you can get the serial number and the type of guitar it is...and if it comes back from anything after 1992 then it's almost definately a fake....I'd give it between 1991-1994 for those sig's....if the guitar is later than 1994, it's a fake.

I am not getting a good vibe from this one either, paul. The only one imho that looks close is Stones. I have an airsick bag he signed that I will have to take a look at, but that is really the only one at first glance. The others just dont look good to me, especially the ed and jeff. When is he claiming that it was signed? Over a period of time, or at one signing? Just curious.

Again, NOT saying everyone else is wrong, you inlcuded, this is just what I see and feel. Sorry.....

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12

i gotta post a picture of my latest stone auto...

He signed the Korg Electribe drum machine/synth, also known as the "You Are" effect for me. (I also use it in a live setting to play the song with the PJ tribute i'm in...No Code)

Hey scott, he didnt say when it was signed,

I havent seen it in person, but I just felt they were pretty close if not spot on....

Its the same advice as always though isnt it, you cant be 100% sure if you didnt see it yourself

I would totally agree....however living in scotland makes it that bit more difficult to attain these things. The next best thing is purchasing them from someone who has personally met the band and that is what I fully intend to do when I buy the replacement.

The thought of this particular peddler getting away with it is too much though and I fully intend getting my original investment back.
  • Stones autograph is pretty sporadic he has signed stuff fron just an S or S squiggle or St or Stone G but typicaly back in this period it was just a S or St. The thing you guts also need to know is that Pearl Jam as a band do not like to sign guitars at all specially Eddie who almost always refuses to sign them unless he knows you or its for charity and almost the same thing goes for Jeff and he is evan more strict on signing guitars so really fellow Pjam fans there are not that many real signed guitars out there that are for sale most people kept theirs or pay an extream amount of money from some charity you just got to be careful where you get them and never buy one off a website that sells strictly autographs your better off on ebay as it is patrolled from time to time by the experts at psa/dna and they weed out a lot of the bad stuff unlike websites. the only other sites i could recommend would be americanmemorabilia.com or rrauction.com...

i disagree about the ed sig. and the krusen sig matches one i got in 98. as always, jmho. here's that ed signature from a guitar signed in 93 or 94. it has a dave a sig. the jeff on paul's example is nearly dead-on to the one from the same guitar. mike's too...i think it's real, and signed 1991-1992

i am going to retract my orignal statement of saying this was fake i did some digging out of my older pearl jam autographs around this same time period and im going to say it looks more real than not the eddie just looks kinda weird but no 2 autographs are the same so it could have been in a crowded situation or ed could have been drinking ect... so i must say it think it is real..

hate to say it, none of those signatures were signed by members of PJ,...

BUT if you want to hear the truth from the source, contact 10C and they'll be happy to confirm the same to you, either by way of you sending them pictures of the guitar and/or by sending them the actual guitar for them to evaluate with said members of PJ in the room looking over the guitar :)

I've heard that before about the 10c and have sent them pictures of things before but they were not helpful. Pretty much said they can't verify any autographs.

several months back a board member purchased a "signed" guitar online and said buyer contacted 10C about getting verification, to which the 10C responded they could only verify the signatures if the guitar was shipped to their office, or so he said,...
