of Americans believe God creates natural disasters.....Like he releases the Kracken or something. Also if he can't kill you in a natural disaster he will get you through the trans fat in the Eucharist.

I'm surprised it's that low of a percentage.

I always assumed that all adults were smart when I was a kid. I have since then found out it isn't the case.

I wonder what percentage believe in ghosts and UFO's?

I am confused where the 40% comes from...another article perhaps?

Maybe its just the confusion of how they can worship something so supposedly "all good" if that thing causes so much pain

Depends on where you put that faith. Why would anyone want to put their faith in a god that punishes us with natural disasters?

I think I'd put my faith elsewhere, maybe be a little more optimistic about the unknown.

No it really doesn't depend on where you put your faith it only matters that you have it
having faith is a beautiful thing

sorry but why would you think God is controlling the natural disasters?

Why would anyone think God is causing pain?

I never get that part and it is forever used against people of faith...
that God is somehow bad. God is the good and love in all of us.

    Tragedies happen in nature...
that is science we all know that.

It is up to us to help those effected, not God.
We must make things right here on Earth by Loving and helping others unselfishly,
by bringing people together. By loving each other.

You are agreeing with me, right? Because I agree with you 100%.. Maybe you misunderstood what I typed?

My point was, if you are going to have faith, why not put it in a loving god, not a vengeful one. Why would anyone want to believe god gets angry and punishes us.

If you're going to have faith, why not choose a positive, optimistic faith?

    I'm very sorry
I did totally misunderstand and believe in Love and a loving God.
Yes I am agreeing with you....No wrath of God in my heart.
Please forgive me, very sorry for the misunderstanding.
  • so is the story of Noah and the arc, and God killing nearly every living thing on the planet just a tall tale in the eyes of christians, or a part of the bible they can explain away as being hyperbole?

I don't get how people who quote the bible as a means to live also can discredit some of its passages.
