i'm fucking sick of people saying OH WELL YOU CAN'T MAKE IT FUCK OFF THEN! =D i REAAAAAAALLY want to go and i'm using my pell grants supposed to be used for school (fuck school this is more important) but you know what, i'm a 22 year old 5'3 little girl who looks like a literal 14 year old who can't sleep in a tent by herself with hundreds of people i don't know because i look like a child so i'm going to have to entice someone big and strong, someone my mom knows, to go with me (and no dad can't go) so i have a FEW more restrictions than most people. the people who are like "ohhhh it's gonna be so expensive i don't think i can do it" are grown people with actual careers and money in the bank but i'm a soon to be college graduate with no money no job and nothing but a hope and a dream and VERY LITTLE money tucked away. not enough to buy a hotel room for "just in case" it's at alpine. the more i hear about telling people "oh well" just because they live somewhere else that would make it difficult for them to get to alpine valley and "well you get shows all the time be quiet i'm glad it's actually an hour away this time" the more likely it is i'm gonna punch one of your precious wisconsin cows in the udder. i would give up all the MSG shows i went to for PJ 20 because msg will happen again, their 20th anniversary won't.
i'm going. i don't care where it is (well maybe a little, i dunno if i can make it to easter island) it's just so fucking difficult when i don't have the luxury of constant income and the ability to save up for this stupid thing nor do i have the luxury of being old enough to rent a car even if i could drive so yeah if i hear someone tell someone who can't make it to fuck off one more time.... fuckin alpine valley....
There are some really really nice, cool, generous people around here....and then you have the elitist snobs who tell people to fuck off, think ticket prices are too low, and wish death on you for questioning the band or Ten Club. Try to focus on the good people. I wish there was a way to block certain posters from what you see. I'm sure quite a few would block me but regardless, try not to let them bring you down. It's 100% ok for you to not be down with Alpine Valley.
I agree. There are some great people around here, but there are a few that make me groan when I see them appear in a thread. Its like they are thread kryptonite.
(HTYC is not one of these people. I bought a poster from him last year and he was a great guy to deal with.)

kryptonite??...I prefer Green glowing rock sir!!!!!!!
Can someone point me to where it was said that PJ is planning a special, once in a lifetime, 20th anniversary festival show?
Other than Jeff saying 'a festival would be cool' and the original statement on AET where he later said "not really a festival, festival'.. what else has been mentioned?

um you need a reality check!!!!!! I'm a 'grown person' with no fucking money in the bank and an $8/hr job and I'm using my entire fucking tax return to try to be there. My room 'just in case' is on reserve and I don't have to give them the money until I get there so I suggest you stop making assumptions. And it's nobody else's fault if you need your mother's permission to go or aren't old enough to rent a freaking car.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. It's hard to complain about it being at Alpine when we live in Chicago. I was hoping for an open field type of setup like Grant Park or somewhere like that to avoid that steep ass hill at Alpine, but I think I can deal with it!

I want to take a trip to the THE BEAN!!!!!
I'm still holding out hope that maybe it will be Grant Park. That would just make everything so much easier from a logistical standpoint. I hope you get to see the bean soon!
