Project #8 - The Whispers of War: Riot Act Live

San Antonio has a nice mournful quality, whereas I think Oklahoma has a more rousing ending - but I think San Antonio may be good within the overall collection. I liked it a lot!

Just listened to it with fresh ears - sounded quite good. much better than i first thought.

New Orleans - Isn't as strong as I remember it, I feel like I may have got those two mixed up.

I didn't care much too much for New Orleans, but I thought trying San Antonio in the overall mix might work quite well - because I thought I am Mine was a point where Version 1 fell short a bit

New Orleans picks up about half way through, similar to Oklahoma
but San Antonio appears to be stronger throughout and has a different tone too, a different mood

Should we go with San Antonio?

If anything, at least we know we didn't overlook a drastically 'special', outstanding version out there ...

and you did. Honestly, I had come to the point where I could not tell the differences amongst them anyway, so I was of little help really.

I reckon this one works -a little- better than the previous one.

LOVE IT !!

Apart from the bonus segment, it's been said how good it is already, I really really love the Help Help-Bu$hleaguer-1/2 full part.

The whole album really benefited from the live treatment, but this portion is truly amazing !

Yeah - it's real good! I just listened through to the end of Get Right on the walk home until my battery died. The changes have definitely given it an extra lift. Just recharging my battery ready to resume to the end - which I already know is great. I am really enjoying working on these projects with you guys, and with everyone. It's a real tonic for a bad day - especially when you get to hear so much great music. Pearl Jam fucking rock! Today was a good day - and the music sounded even better!!

The selections are really sounding great.

Still comes unstuck at I am Mine for me.
Checked every single version from 2003 now and the version that springs to mind as being slightly better is Irvine 02/06.

Matt manages to bring this alive around the bridge

I enjoyed the new I am Mine a lot - and the whole album overall sounded great. I think I am Mine is one of the RIot Act tracks where it maybe has never been possible to recreate the majesty of the studio version live - so I am not sure we can do any better! I have found with this collection that overall I am enjoying it more than the studio album, because certain tracks - particularly in the second half really outstrip the studio versions. On my favourite studio tracks, including I am Mine, I am finding that the familiar studio versions are winning out still. I think we have done about as well as we could with this one though - and thanks for your contributions, which have helped a lot.
