Any of you CT or CT area people fans of Foo Fighters?

"Demand" this and sign it. We know they'll go to those top cities, so let's get them here. I don't want them to skip Connecticut.

Can you imagine getting an Eddie show and a Foo Fighters show in the same year?

I freakin LOVE Dave Grohl. But, I like him better as a drummer than a lead singer. I do like the Foo, they're just not one of my top bands... I would not be in the least bit sad if Dave quit the Foo and became full time drummer for Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures. Either way, this is just my opinion. I signed the demand for ya Newch. I tell ya what, if they chose a decent venue in CT and tickets were a reasonable price, and there were no other shows goin on that day, I would probly consider going. Maybe thats what I need to become a full fledged Foo fan. Cuz, you know, thats all I need. Is to become addicted to another band

If you havent seen this already, check it out..."Fresh Pots". This kills me every time. If ever your in a bad mood, pull this vid up on youtube and you will instantly become happy. Enjoy :D

100% agree with him leaving the Foos and focusing solely on Them Crooked Vultures! I would love another record from them! I dont know about QOTSA though, I love Joey behind the drum kit. The man's a beast.

Queens seem to have a rotating cast of members, aside from Josh, so whenever Grohl's ready, im sure there will be a slot for him to fit into. And if and when he feels the need to go back to the Foo for a while, we can always take Joey.

Drop1 - Did you get tickets to the Boston HoB Queens show? Been getting pumped up, listening to S/T and some B-Sides/Desert Sessions as of late (in between listening to the new Radiohead album of course)... CANT FREAKIN WAIT!!! **insert happy dance emoticon**

No luck with Boston but I'm in for the T5 at NYC!! I'm still going to keep checking ticketmaster to see if they do a ticket drop though. I've been listening to S/T like 4 times a day, getting very pumped. They delayed shipment of the new CD and Vinyl S/T remaster for the 3rd time but they sent me a link to the digital version while I wait. I really hope I get to hear "The Bronze" live! Let's hope they tape one of the shows for a DVD and release it witht eh Salt Mine gig!

I just got the s/t reissue (download) yesterday. They put The Bronze in the middle of the album. Wondering if they'll play it that way live. I'll keep an eye/ear out for any Boston tix for you. I know I checked on saturday after the public onsale sold out, and there werent even any on stub hub anymore.

Foo Fighters are awesome. Dave Grohl is awesome as a singer. His signature is the scream.

  • Hi guys. I've been sortof away from the board recently (except for posting in the Red Sox thread). It's been a tough couple weeks for me recently, been going thru some personal shit, so my heart hasn't entirely been in the wild an craziness of the EVCT thread. But I'm back and better than ever. Go Red Sox!

By the way twisted, I don't know what you're hearing with this new Radiohead album, but to me, it's not good. In fact, its probably the worst thing they've ever released in my opinion. And I'm a huge Radiohead fan. Don't be mad at me, just my 2cents.

And Newch, the Foos are so awesome. Can't wait to indulge in the new record.

Nice to see you around here. Hope everything gets back to normal for you. Go Yankees!

And yes, the Foos kick so much ass, I don't know how much they kick. That's the album I'm looking most forward to right now.

I've started listening to Wilco and The Black Keys the last few days and they are 100000x better than Arcade Fire. I saw there was so much hype to them, seeing that they won Album of the Year. I listened and wish I could get those couple of hours back I spent listening to them.

  • Is that how you're supposed to dance to the new record, twisted? I don't think I could pull that off. After all, I'm not British and I haven't consumed 86 coffees today.

Also, King of Limbs is barely even an album. It's more of an EP. I'm just super crestfallen after In Rainbows. Nothing touches In Rainbows.

(Jimmy from South Park voice) I mean, come on.

chillax brosef. there will be more to come. ;)
Youve seen Radiohead live before, right? Yah...thats how Thom gets down. I wouldnt advise trying it at home
I will sneak myself into your pocket
Invisible, do what you want, do what you want
I will sink and I will disappear
I will slip into the groove and cut me up and cut me up

There's an empty space inside my heart
    Where the wings take root
So now I'll set you free
    I'll set you free
There's an empty space inside my heart
    And it won't take root
    Tonight I'll set you free
    I'll set you free

    Slowly we unfurl
    As lotus flowers
And all I want is the moon upon a stick
    Dancing around the pit
Just to see what it is
    I can't kick the habit
Just to feed your fast ballooning head
    Listen to your heart

We will sink and be quiet as mice
While the cat is away and do what we want
    Do what we want

There's an empty space inside my heart
And now it won't take root
And now I set you free
    I set you free

Because all I want is the moon upon a stick
Just to see what it is
    Just to see what gives
Take the lotus flowers into my room
    Slowly we unfurl
    As lotus flowers
All I want is the moon upon a stick
    Dance around a pit
    The darkness is beneath
    I can't kick the habit
Just to feed my fast ballooning head
    Listen to your heart

I was also wondering if that is what Eddie says in the beginning of Arms Aloft. I thought I was the only one. We were insane that night. Next time they're in Hartford we'll be even more insane and rock the place, wherever they play in Hartford.

Its funny, cuz when they first announced the show was at the XL, I was like, WTF. Why not the Meadows?!?! Indoors sux! Then i got there, got my tickets and found out i was on the floor. Realized I couldnt see shit. I was like, damn...this sux. Then the show started. And it didnt even matter that I could hardly see, or that i was right next to a security guard. I rocked the fuck out and it was one of my all time favorite PJ shows. Cant wait for the next one!!!

I was happy they played the XL. It was like October or November of '09 and there was a thread asking where the band played and I said next time they play Hartford they should play the XL Center. And sure enough, they did! I had good seats, too; section 117 row C on Stone's side and it was a great view.

    Best seats ever for XL.

Youngster and I had a ball that day. One for the record books.

That being said, Pearl Jam please don't ever play the XL Center again. Meadows! Meadows! Meadows!
