    ok ok...I have been to franklin giant and dont recall thinking it was all that great....but this thread has intrigued me...as a bit of a "foodie" I think I should revisit the grinder.

    Lets make a list of nominees for best grinder so I can start making the rounds...
    Gaetanos - Stratford
    Franklin Giant Grinder - Hartford
    La Molisana Sausage - Waterbury (btw am I going here for a grinder or for sausage to take home and cook?)
    Aventura's - Waterbury

    what else? Copy the list and add to it..

    honestly there arent many steaks that come to mind as being amazing. I think the one I am most consistently impressed by is (mock me if you must) the lodge filet from Bugaboo in manchester. Haven't been to Ruth's Chris yet though....J Gilbert's was good but the scallops outshined the ribeye IMO.

    hmm. ive never heard of or been to a bugaboo before.
    no intentions to mock...ive had a few good steaks at outback before...every once in a while a chain restaurant will surprise you with a good meal. 8-)

    La Molisana doesn't make grinders - it's a butcher shop...take home to cook. Pick up some fresh sausage and bread (they get it daily from Arthur Ave NYC) and the lowest price Parma prosciutto anywhere. They also make the best homemade stuffed cherry peppers and rib eyes cut to order for just $7.99 per pound.
