Muse was fuckin awesome in 2007 at lolla...

Foo Fighters were great both time I saw them...Grohl is a very entertaining frontman.
"Well, I think this band is incapable of sucking."
-my dad after hearing Not for You for the first time on SNL .
  • Muse put on a better show than Pearl Jam. Saw them last March here in Philly and the show was incredible.

Noooo wayyyy. Bellamy's too douchey, he doesn't come off as sincere like Eddie does. I saw Muse in 2007 when I still considered them good and while the show was fun, it was nowhere near my top concerts ever list. Muse jumped the shark with their 2009 album and all that Twilight bullshit to me.

muse are to busy with their light show.... I'd rather go see live local band at a small club that just straight out rocks.... none of this Bon Jovi the circle crap, U2 and their claw and muse with their big disco ball light show.

Amen. In 2009 I saw Pearl Jam at the 5,000 seat Gibson Ampitheatre and a few weeks later I saw U2's monstrosity of a show at the Rose Bowl, and Pearl Jam's show blew U2's bloated mess out of the water.

Eminem is a huge no. I don't care for the Foo Fighters current stuff. Their first two albums were awesome. I saw Muse at ACL 2010 and while they put on an impressive show, I 'm not into their music at all.
  • I like both Muse and FF ok, but their announcement isn't really getting me super pumped.
Keep in mind there will still be 3 more headliners announced, with some going up against these 3 in the same time slots.

    that is quite a statement.

4 years ago, Muse put on a great show. recently it has been a very different experience since they went all 'radio disco trendy'....for me they lost their edge, and their setlists are horrifically samey. Matt is an undeniable talent, but he has no stage rapport with the crowd and so little interaction....and every show is the same.

i did love their first records though

Foo Fighters put on amazing live shows...forget the other guys, though. Don't think I'll be going this year. :(

    Sigur Ros

    RHCP

I'm kind of glad though I like Eminem, because this is not much of a draw for me, so I'll be more likely to go to the Pearl Jam festival. $$ are a little tight this year and it would have been hard to go to both events.

I have seen Muse a few times. They have snazzy lights and lasers, but their performance lacks warmth and soul. There is no interaction between the band members.

I can see how people are drawn to their shows, but I prefer a show that doesn't fully rely on technique.

Eminem is a great choice for a sure thing crowd pleaser.

Foos are the ultimate fun/lighthearted festie band.
  • "The Foo Fighters — fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl"... Really? After everything he has done, all these years later, do they STILL have to mention this? I mean, if this were Lolla '95 or '96 sure, but it's 2011.
