Version 2 PM being sent as I type this message. I made a last minute change due to some audio difficulties with the St. Louis "GTF", and I went with the Los Angeles 7/13 "GTF". I think it sounds real good, hopefully the rest of you will too.

Ok, I finally gave Version 2 a few run throughs.
Sounds very good to me !!
GTF 'flows' well between No Way and Wishlist and we don't have to change Wishlist for it has too good an SQ, which would have been quite a paradox. Now, of course, Pilate is a bit lower in SQ, but I don't think that's problematic, considering the usual 'lower tone' of the beginning of this song anyway. Had the version of this song been higher in SQ then we'd have a gap in the flow onto DTE, and that would really be problematic then, considering DTE needs to rock no matter what.
So, all's good for me with Version 2 as it is.
Yes, I agree - version 2 sounded really good to me, and much better with the changed GTF, for the exact reasons you describe. I also agree that it is less of a problem shifting into Pilate, for similar reasons.
Version 2 good with me also!

I was about to ask the same question.
I am satisfied with Version 2, I do not believe that we can tweak it much anymore.
It sounds like you and Tremors are satisfied as well.
Looks like we are ready. Unless I hear any objections, this will be released to the wild tomorrow.

Great! It's a good one this. And it has grown on me too. I think when you adjust to the fact that it is audience sourced and get into the spirit of that, it has a magic of its own!
Were there any Soundboard shows at all, or was it 100% audience?

***Melbourne was actually the Sony Promo disc that got leaked, not the Triple J radio version of this boot. Big difference in sound quality.

Yield is one of Pearl Jam's best loved albums, and we hope we have come up with a collection which will please Yield lovers, and keep the momentum going as we work through the studio albums 'live' with these projects. With Static Echoes: Yield Live, we had to depart from our formula of featuring performances mostly drawn from Soundboard sources. There are relatively few pure soundboard recordings from the 98 tour – and so instead we drew quite heavily on some of the excellent audience boots that are circulating, and those from a hybrid of mono soundboard feeds and audience recording. This gives a different feel and listening experience from the Soundboard projects, and a nice flavour of the 'good old days' of lapping up audience recorded tapes and unofficial bootlegs of the band.
We are very pleased with the results – with a grittier sound, and nice versions of key tracks which hopefully give a flavour of the era, the tour, and also show different sides to some of the songs on the album. Balancing and selecting the different audience sources next to each other was a challenge in itself, with a smaller pool to choose from after our last project, from the Binaural tour, where we were spoilt by having the official boots to choose from.
Yield live sounds great, and is often easy to forget you aren't listening to Soundboard recordings (The only Yield tracks that don't include audience sources are Brain of J and Faithfull)
The collection finishes with bonus tracks: - a sweet 'Improv', and Leatherman, and closes with Fuckin' Up – which featured prominently in the '98 tour.
ps, tell me if any of this is not accurate and I will make changes. Also I could add that Lowlight came from another year - the first time it was played.

This should help explain the use of ALD and bootleg recordings:
ALD used by bootleggers to tape concerts
By Larry McShane
The Associated Press
NEW YORK - A system designed to help the hearing-impaired at concerts has provided bootleggers a new tool to make illegal live recordings of exceptional quality, according to the record industry.
This latest wrinkle in the multimillion-dollar bootlegging industry takes advantage of a federal law requiring arenas to offer patrons use of an assistive listening device (ALD).
"We know through criminal investigations and informants that this is a common practice," said Frank Creighton, senior vice president of anti-piracy at the Recording Industry Association of America.
Bootleggers can simply request an ALD headset, which provides a high-quality feed of a live show via a low-level FM frequency broadcast inside a facility.
The music pirates then steal the headset feed, giving them concert performances devoid of the usual bootleg problems such as random crowd noise or distortion, Creighton said.
Bootleggers are using the devices provided for the hearing-impaired to record near-pristine versions of concerts by veterans like Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan plus a plethora of new acts.
Advocates for the hearing impaired were appalled by the new pirating technique.
Arenas are required to provide the ALDs under the federal Americans with Disability Act, which recently marked its 10th anniversary.
Typical of the ALD bootlegs is an Aug. 22, 1999, Springsteen concert from Boston's Fleet Center - one of the most popular illegal recordings of the Boss' E Street Band reunion tour, according to Internet sites.
The three-CD collection is advertised as "soundboard quality," with various mentions that it was done via an ALD.
"If there (is) anybody who don't own a single boot, buy this," raved one bootleg buyer at a Springsteen site. "The sound is so good you'll think it's an official release!!!"
The ALD rip-offs were news to officials at several major concert venues from coast to coast, including the new Staples Center in Los Angeles and the First Union Center in Philadelphia.
"We have the devices, but I haven't heard of this," said Ike Williams of the First United Center in Philadelphia.
Creighton says that arena policing is generally left up to bands and their road crews; many groups, from the Allman Brothers to the Dave Matthews Band, have encouraged their fans to tape and trade live performances.
The Recording Industry Association of America only becomes involved once the illegal material is manufactured and distributed, according to Creighton. The association says that hundreds of millions of dollars are lost annually through the various forms of bootlegging, and this new technique should add to that total.

Hope you Enjoy!
