SO I am planning my wedding.
We have a couple of songs that could possibly be our wedding song
We havent decided yet.

If I dont pick a pj song, I would like to atleast have one that we do dance too.
I have a couple in mind

just wanted your thoughts on a good song
There's the moon asking to stay
Long enough for the clouds to fly me away

Before our ceremony, we had a video cut to 'Parachutes'. Actually we even had a a verse (actually parts of two verses) on our invitations...It was well received, and very appropriate...espescially if you know us. Good luck.

OMG... I wrote the lyrics down for my fiance.(he is not as big of a fan as I)
and I said that if we picked parachutes I want to have the last line written on our invites ..

I just dont know if Its a great song to dance to..
We are not a coordinated couple when it comes to dancing
but the lyrics are my fav... thats why i would pick it

    Congrats! :)

If 'Thin Air' had've been around when we got married....it would've been our bridal waltz song for sure!!! It would have to be one of the most beautiful (dare I say) love songs I've ever heard :)

One of the songs we had was 'Thank You' by Led Zeppelin.

For our first dance, my wife and I had 'Throw your arms'. Live version from the Austrailian tour. It went over well.

I would say "Smile"... I just love that song and it makes me smile.

Or Pearl Jam's cover of "Harvest Moon" or "Love, reign on me" those would be great for weddings. Or as weird as it sounds I have thought about Black in the past, not because of the words but because of the beautiful experience it creates at concerts... Black is always one of mine and boyfriends favorite moments...

So my advise is fuck tradition... pick a PJ song that means something to you. Like the open song, or your favorite song, of the first show you guys went together to.

But congraz... hope you pick something good

We used "thin air" at our wedding. I think it might be their most romantic song

For my wedding, I made a cd to play during cocktail hour - it included Thin Air, Wishlist, and Harvest moon.

First Dance - Thank You by Led Zeppelin

During dinner, we played Given to Fly, Loveboat Captain, and Can't Help Falling in Love (xmas single version).

We didn't really have a wedding song, but during the dance songs, we played Thin Air and Can't Help Falling in Love from Vegas 2000.

Someone I know's brother played NothingMan as their first-dance song. Doesn't really make sense to me lyrically. I guess they just played it since it was slow?

Many congrats! Good luck with the planning and don't get too stressed out, everything will be perfect, including all the things that go wrong ;)

My wife and I picked "You're True" from the Hawaii show for our first dance. Being a uke song, it wasn't the best dancing song, but we got engaged at that show so it was the obvious choice for us :)

Thinking of going with 'Low Light' for our wedding in August. That song and the whole rythm and vibe always gets to me. Lyrics not that important.
And I'll be standing on my mans feet...we love to dance like that in the kitchen.

    Goodluck and have FUN!
Why not be mediocre and be the best at it that you can be?

I just got engaged. A thing I thought would never happen! :)
I would love to have PJ songs played at the wedding.Thin air and Low light are definitely candidates. Also Light years, but the lyrics doesn't really fit a wedding and Hail, Hail, but in that case the music doesn't really fit.

I'd say the same about Parachutes. That would have to play into my wedding if I were getting married today.

And also "Hail, Hail" is a 90s grunge version of "Love Stinks." Please don't play that at a wedding. The lyrics are anti-love.
