Quite possibly the bluesiest song form them. It has a 1960's blues sound to it.

    I love this song.
    It makes me want to cry. Always.

    When ed gets into the "I'll be heeeeeere" part, with Mike wailing behind him, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time.

    I'm dreading the day when I can relate to it so closely that I don't want to listen to it anymore. Ed has captured a very, very real emotion there in these lyrics. Among the best he's ever written.

    Although my vote for "bluesiest" Pearl Jam song will always go to Ledbetter .... which sounds as if it were actually a Stevie Ray cover.

    and the part you mentioned, "i'll be here.. come back" it's making me tear up just thinking about it :( the way he wails in such gut wrenching pain, the one thing in the world he needs and he cant have it, and he'll still wait as long as his life allows him... how can you not be moved even a little by this song? i've never been in love and i can still feel the emotion

    Great song.

    However I think that Smile is a touch more "Bluesy"
