Yay StillHere!
I am still  at the Post Office.
I ordered stamps on Monday the 29th. I get a message, "Thank-you for your order, It will be processed and shipped within one business day'
I figure:
I wait...and wait... Tuesday goes by...Wednesday...On Thursday at 6pm I get an email: 'Thank-you! Your order has shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Your order will arrive in 3-5 business days' Since when is Tuesday to Thursday night 'One Business Day'?!? If that is their math, I won't get my stamps until after Christmas! I should have dealt with all the grumpity grumps at the post office and gone there in person....ah well...the wait will be worth it!The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

I think everything will be ok....my in laws live in a small town, so they were not used to 'numbered streets' like bigger cities have. Well when my SO was living at an address that was ' 555 237th Street', his sister sent him some cookies and she addressed it: '555 200 37th street'....it took 3 months....but we finally got the christmas cookies....just in time for Valentine's Day!

Stamps finally arrived...with a catalog! like I really want to order anymore stamps from you?!?!?
Cards will be on their way out the door tomorrow!
Oh! thank-you Smoking Baby for your witty card....very charming!
And to the champion doggie owner (Unlost Dogs)...  (there is a town about 2 hours from me with the same name....they turned it into a 'Western' themed town, complete with wooden sidewalks....now I get a mental image of you wearing chaps!
) I am also a tad ashamed I did not place my pups into an extracurricular activity

My dear woman, I can assure you I do not wear chaps.
But if I did, they would be fringed. 8-)
I arrived home to find a card all the way from New Zealand, with a lovely note from Tinkerbelle! I've never had mail from New Zealand before, and for a moment I hoped it was from Viggo Mortensen asking me to come and join him while they film "The Hobbit" but then I realized that I don't even know if they're filming that yet, and even if they are, I don't think Aragorn was in "The Hobbit."
But I digress... anyway, I was happy to have a card from Tinkerbelle and it gave me a chuckle and now is prominently featured in my front room. Thanks Tink!
Also, I had a card from someone named Sheri with no return address or other identifying information. I have no idea if it's someone from here or from some other part of my life that I am blanking on. I think it says Sheri. Maybe it's Sheryl? Shirl?
81, is your real name Shirl?

You're welcome Unlost Dogs & cat72. Interesting it took 2 weeks to get from NZ to US. :geek:
Sorry Unlost - The Hobbit isn't being filmed yet and Aragon isn't in it
. Damn that Viggo is fine! all you need is love, love is all you need0 -
Pearl Jam has brought me so much in the past 20 years, too much to mention here,
but by far the best thing is the wonderful people I've met through our shared love of the music.
Miss Tinkerbell, thank you for your generous spirit and kind words,
they mean more than you know! You are a person to be cherished
It is true..... love makes the world smaller!!

I (finally) mailed off my cards! You should all be getting them in the mail in the next few days (US people) or a few weeks....(international people). I better start working on next year's cards, so I will not be so late with them
