What Do You Guys Feel About The Other Acts?

Metallica, Allman Brothers, Jack Johnson, MMJ, State Radio, Sigur Ros...I think this will be a pretty cool festival. I would assume PJ would get the last night over Metallica, every media outlet is listing PJ ahead of Metallica.

    Ditto

Great list there otherwise and they always add more acts later.

Jack Johnson is great, B.B. King , and Willie Nelson put on a fun show, i actually seen both those guys within 3 days of each other back 01. i've seen Ben Folds, he is lots of fun.

as far as Metallica goes, i dont really care one way or the other, ive seen them when i was an angry teenager, they put on the same show all 4 times i seen them. but really, they can be fun if you take it for what it is.
    Peace, Love.

Simple deduction. Metallica's site is already reporting them on Friday night.

Bonnaroo has also, I understand, shown a tendency to put their less-significant headliner on Sunday night. Makes for less people on the farm that day and slightly easier traffic situation on Sunday night.

Im kinda disappointed with the line up (I dislike Metallica so much too)... the bands are ok I guess, but none of those bands have enough pull with me to make me travel and spend that much money... I had already made the decision of going with my husband and some friends but after seeing the line up Pearl Jam would be the only band I'd be going for and it doesnt justify the expense.

I'm going to think about it, but so far is looking like I'm changing my mind and waiting for some other shows

55-60 bucks per day for all of those acts? Of course it is. You'd pay close to the full ticket price for just one Rolling Stones show. Very diverse lineup with a lot of acts. The ticket price may seem steep, but when ya do the math, it's a great value for the amount of stuff they have on tap. And they'll be announcing more later on.

Pearl Jam and Metallica in the same weekend? Not bad . . .

It's true that I stopped listening to Metallica quite some time ago, but as a teenager they were my favorite band in the world. I would love to see them again.

But do I want to drive 1,000 miles, camp out in a parking lot, and be surrounded by hippies for 4 days???? THAT, is the big questions.

As for the comedians, I saw David Cross open for PJ in Portland. There were a couple of times during the performance when I expected rotton fruit to rain down on him. (and I was waiting for Ed to sucker punch him when he went off on The Who)

I can't believe that folks do not think this is worth the money...it may be too much to ask to camp out for 4 days, but these acts are worth the outlay. As far as camping out goes, I'm 43 (no not a hippy:) so if the wife oks it, I'll be heading down with my 15 year old daughter for some fun.

yep, that's exactly the same with me unfortunately. I was hoping for atleast another big band like Led Zep or REM or someone performing.... but I don't know if this is enough for me to go all the way there...
