It's great that there's some touring news coming up, but why must we have to decipher these 'tweets'?

Why can't they just spit the actual news out?
Because this isn't the actual announcement. This is just a kind reminder that something is coming, and you had better have your membership up to date if you want the opportunity to participate in whatever is going to be announced.

    July 3, 2009:
As the sun was setting in the west, we had a visit from a little birdie who seemed like he was in a great hurry.
“Where are you going?” we asked. He said, “I have to pack my bags and saddle up my horse."
    "Birds have bags?" we questioned.
With eyes wide the bird stared at us stupefied for a few minutes and then said, "Tweet!"
"Just be sure your fan club memberships/addresses are up to date by July 7 at midnight PT.” said the bird as he flew off heading east tweeting “mmmm Cheesesteaks, and soon Vegemite ... tweet”

    April 24, 2009:
A little birdy flew from across the pond, landed on our window sill and twittered that it's always a good idea to have your Ten Club memberships up-to-date, especially by April 26th. Then he hopped his little jet-lagged body to a tree to take a nap.

A little American birdie flew by our window, flapping his wings and tweeting loudly to get our attention. He was happy to finally have news because things happened so fast and almost didn’t happen at all! We were so happy to see him so we could tell you that he said that you should be sure your Ten Club memberships are up-to-date as of March 10 or come Thursday you could be singing a sad song. Ill bet 5 people....
    5 candy bars each.......

That this isnt any type of tour announcement, involving Ed solo or any type of Pearl Jam tour..........

    I'll take that bet.

Cryptic as it is, why would there be such wild speculation and a big ole tweet
about Deep magazine? It has to be something involving a tour, but i could be wrong.

nooooooooo speedy....i don't think we need a tweet for the holiday single or the magazine or stickers or whatever. i mean they never come when they say they will anyway..so why tweet about that stuff.

    def something big

the big booming voice = Ed
the references One Man Stands Alone (Force of Nature) = Ed
the man behind the curtain, the scarecrow = Oz

some have speculated that seattle is the emerald city
some have speculated that ireland is the emerald isle
some have speculated that the wizard takes off in his baloon and goes back to the Kansas state fair
or that dorothy ends up back in kansas

but i do with the aussie/oz theory
    and ed solo

HOWEVER< Speedy........now if I'm wrong and he's coming to the Tower Theater in Philly...well, I'll be so so soso happy to be wrong that I'll send YOU 100 candy bars! oh and the 5 bucks :D

  • So let me get this straight.....Everyone thinks Ed is going to tour again on a 27 minute album that he has already toured on before? Unless you hear news of a new Ed album first, I would expect this to be a PJ tour more than I would an Ed solo tour and I don't care what the cryptic tweet, tweet, tweet was. Also why would Ed tour solo during the PJ 20th Anniversary in which a new live album and two re-issues are coming out.

This is going to be a PJ tour my friends.

So you think is a PJ TOUR? After they promoted it in 2009, and 2010, so they are going to do it again? Thats kinda beating a dead horse don't you think? It EDDIE VEDDER TOUR FOR SURE

And another Eddie tour supporting a 4 year old, 27 minute album is any better? Basically an Eddie tour is a PJ tour without the rest of the guys anyway since he has such little solo material.

Whos says it's for the "old" record?! Excerpt from the Kobalt article: "...In addition, Kobalt will administer all of lead singer/songwriter Eddie Vedder's solo catalog including his critically−acclaimed soundtrack to Into The Wild and the song "Better Days" from the Eat Pray Love soundtrack, plus new solo works...." We don't know any dates yet and we don't know what will happen till then :D

it's not necessarily about promoting ITW ... it's about giving his fans a chance to see him play solo live ... him and the rest of the band are not interested in doing year long world tours anymore ... he's done 3 different legs or so in north america and now its time to take the show to australia where he probably wants to winter anyways ... expect it to be like 12 shows in like 35 days or something ...

plus, at his solo shows, he only plays like 4 or 5 ITW songs at most ... he's got plenty of material ...

these tweets have never been too cryptic ... they usually are fairly obvious and i'm not sure why anyone wants to think otherwise based on what these tweets have been in the past ...

the only question is whether he hops to new zealand as well ...

I couldn't disagree more. I know that some Pearl Jam fans consider an Eddie tour to be as desirable as a Pearl Jam tour, but his solo stuff is of very little interest to me. It's not that I dislike what he has done on his own,I just don't get excited for Eddie's solo projects like I do for PJ. He's only 1/5 of what makes this band special to me. He has a beautiful voice and is a hell of a songwriter, but Eddie isn't a "must see" for me like Pearl Jam is.

several interviews i've seen with mike, jeff and stone have said that there is so much stuff left from the backspacer sessions and more than that, that they are seriously thinking about putting that stuff out in an album to come out soon. and i know they said they'd be spending much of this fall and early winter in the studio, doing exactly that, tweaking what they've already got.

so what i'm saying is that when they do go on tour, who's to say its still a backspacer tour? hmmm?

and eddie he's got so much more than ITW...so much. the man writes down everything. how could he not?

i have no idea what this tweet means now...i thought i did, and i'm probably going to stick with the ed solo down under theory, makes the most sense...

    but who knows

we have to wait till Monday and then it will be all so much clearer.

and i have to disagree, but thats ok, with the poster above me, i know that ed is only 1/5 of an amazing group of musicians, but his solo stuff moves me like nothing else. (other than a full blown pj show that isI

peace everyone, monday will be here before you know it!

  • It would be great if this was a solo tour for EV! That would be my Christmas present. I would like to see Fistful of Mercy for his opening act. That would be awesome. Can't wait until Monday :D
And he who forgets will be destined to remember...
