    I am so excited! If it's really at the other end of the world, I cannot afford it :( Good luck to the NZ and Oz people ...
    But there's still hope that we are talking a Euro tour, too ;)

    I believe the 2nd announcement for the Big Day Out (Australian and NZ summer festival) is being released midnight tonight or tomorrow.......... is it possible Ed would play? I'd much rather a solo show though.

    i don't think BDO, as why would we need our membership up to date for BDO, we couldn't get 10c tickets for that. So relax, Ms Pony, I really don't think it's BDO. don't think. but lets face it, I know nothing! sigh. this time tomorrow I shall know something

    True. I doubt anyone can work that efficiently :lol: At worst (or is that best?) I'd give 'em a few days to process all the info and get it out to us. They did just ask everyone to update/renew their memberships. My only hope is that we are afforded enough time to get our shit together and not miss out in some free-for-all frenzy (God forbid I jinxed anything now :lol::lol: )

    Good point, although maybe he's doing sideshows as well, hence the updating of the 10c. But i'm with everyone else, fuck BDO.

    I reckon it might be Bluesfest with solo gigs to go along with it... which is in April

    Bluesfest is a fair call but I don't reckon he's doing it. Dylan, BB, Costello, Harper already on the bill.

    FWIW my call is a mid-late January Ed solo Oz tour (before the BDO run in each city).

    Bluesfest - perfect fit considering who is already playing. Ben loves Bluesfest and Ed and Ben are very close. Byron is known as a great surfing holiday for those that come to play Bluesfest. Rumours were this year that Ed was coming with Ben to Splendour in the Grass so it sounds like a super fit. 2nd announcement has been built up to sound just as big as the first as well.

    Late Jan - that's an insanely busy time and a very competitive marketplace. So many festival dates and the sideshows that come with all those bands. For example, late January in Sydney is overflowing with shows, with many bands playing on the same nights. It would be a strange time to announce a solo run I think, unless he's on the BDO 2nd announcement.

    Then again - this could all have nothing to do with Eddie coming to Australia :D

    Bluesfest would've been awesome, followed by some sideshows, but he would have been on the bill when announced...
    Whatever it is, i just wish they would announce it.
    I'm on nightshift tonight and its the only time I'm going to be happy to be awake at work at 2am in the morning.

    that bluesfest lineup is already amazing! I would so love to see dylan live. and yep, it is possible that ed will join one of these festivals and do solo shows on the side. hey, like I've said, i'll be happy to have him anywhere on NZ soil, i'll be there...

    actually now I'm secretly hoping it is BDO + side project solo concert, as I've already got my BDO ticket (shush you haters, I wanna see me some stooges), so I'm imagining BDO and solo concert now...

    I think there's not much doubt left for Aussies, mose well congratulate yas now, the one question still remains....

    the thing about big day out is... it's too big. if youre not willing to get there early and stay in the d barrier zoned mosh pit all day long, you can't see or hear jackshit from anywhere you can get to

    the only way to enjoy a big day out and get your moneys worth is to stick to the smaller stages. so if you're going to see headliners you're pretty much out of luck.
