Love the part where Ed is telling the story of how when they were recording/rehearsing he went out to go the bathroom. Was really missing Beth. He locked himself out of the studio by mistake, and knew that Jeff and Stone wouldn't hear him knocking. So, he sat down and came up with the lyrics to Oceans.

Such a great read about the history of our favorite band. Well done, TFT. Bravo!

CantKeepmedown- That was one of my favorite parts too.

    Two other favorite parts:

The Eddie/Jack Irons connection with Jack being Joe Strummer's touring drummer, never knew that.

Cornell's pushing McCready during the TOTD recording sessions, thought that was real cool.

Overall just a great job. Printed this out on Monday and took me a few days to get through but kept it in my back pocket and read parts at any chance I got. Thanks for putting the time into such a great piece of history, really enjoyed this.

Fantastic effort here, Jessica...thanks so much for investing the time and sharing...
loved the fact that Dollar Short was played by MLB - hope that surfaces...and the story of Ed doing Oceans to Jeff's baseline out in the damp alley was priceless...

It's fun to invest so much love, time and $$$ into this band...and it's more fun to know there are peeps like you Jess helping support the habit :)

Awesome job kiddo! (Loved your work in Spin in 01 also :))

    Enjoy Bridge...

I also liked the parts about evolution of the songs, especially about Release and Oceans, and Cornell's interviews. It's PJ birthday, and we are getting presents. Thanks.

Did anyone get an email? I was wondering if one of the 50 has surfaced. Can't wait to see if I made the cut. :D What a great effort.

The response has been amazing. We got 50 requests for the print version in the first HOUR after posting this, and they have flooded in by the hundreds since then. So by popular demand, we’ll be sending out print copies to the first 300 of you who requested them. We’ll send an email when it’s on its way to you. Thank you everyone for reading! -Jessica

THANK YOU JESSICA :D and everyone over at TFT, GREAT job again!

  • Hey everyone,

Many many thanks again for reading the pdf of my mini book over at TwoFeetThick.com.

The printer called yesterday to say a batch was done so I juggled a large large bag of the magazine-stye print version home last night. I'll be hitting the post office and sending out the first round of 'it's on it's way to you' emails today or tomorrow if you were among the first to ask for a free physical copy.

If any one has any crafty ideas for saving on international postage, however, I am all ears! There were requests from every where from the U.K. to Indonesia, and I want to include everyone I can on the freebie offer.

    Thanks,
    Jessica =)

    Thanks Jessica! :)

For the international crowd, how about a donation to the site via PayPal? 4 bucks maybe to cover for the shipping cost & server fee's for the site?
  • Hey Demetrios,

Good thought on the international issue... I am trying very very hard to avoid anyone spending any money, so I don't want any $$. This is meant to be a gift to fellow fans. So, even just any ideas about how to get it out there internationally less expensively would be great.

And Canadians and Mexicans, don't sweat. You guys are fairly inexpensive to mail to, so I have that covered. Also the military folks serving abroad are same price as sending anywhere in America so also all set.

    thanks!

Could you find someone to accept one large package in an international location. Estimate what it would cost to mail the international issues from that location and send the funds to cover the cost. All you need is a kind soul to volunteer for the assignment. :) I would help but I live in the states.

Sounds like a good idea, it could work out cheaper depending on postage costs and number of people. I could help out in New Zealand if any of us made the cut. PM me if you want to work out details. I can find out how much postage within the country would be, and combined with mass postage here we can work out if it's any cheaper.
