Hey Paul,
I don't mean to push on you too hard, but out of curiousity do you have any update on other setlists from this time frame that were missing? If you remember my email there were specifically 2 I was looking for that weren't on the list that I really would like to own... more so than any of the others I bid on...
I received my ACL setlist in the mail late last week thanks! unfortunately I've been traveling for work since then, so I haven't seen it yet. My girlfriend told me that the mail lady did a good job a crumpeling it up to fit in the mail box, but I'm assuming that this shouldn't really matter, as the setlist was probably well-worn to begin with... I curious to ask anyone else what kind of condition their setlists arrived in?
I plan to frame this and put it right next to my limited edition ACL PJ poster (the cowboy/squirt gun one)...
Cheers,
shepHouston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

Andy that truely sucks, they crumpled it up??
I believe the setlists are all in great condition and were not crumbled on the stage so this is a pain in the ass. I hope the damage isnt too bad and that it will straighten out.
As for the next phase, Im waiting to hear on this, we are just finishing up this one...seeing what is left and then my friend will see if time can be found to compile what is leftover as a fresh list. there are several I need too so Im just as eager to see it mate
But to be quite honest I dont know if it will happen now. Cant help but conclude that the sticky that was posted on the forum on the 3rd August was aimed towards this, and really i can do without the stress. The proceeds from the setlists will all find their exceptional cause, and help put some children into a better future, Im very happy about that, all the time was worth it for that reason, but I can do without those kind of threads. This is supposed to be a grown up community, with members who can look after themselves. Seems this isnt the case, either the powers here do not think that people can make their own decisions, or do not believe the good intentions behind what i was doing. Either way. The next one will probably not get to this place. I just cannot for the life of me understand why else the charitable mention in that thread was there0 -

I haven't seen it yet, as I have been traveling for work since last week, but my girlfriend took it out of the mailbox and said that it had been rammed in there pretty good... Oh well... I guess that's too bad. When I get home next week I'll have to assess the damage...
That's pretty typical of my luck... At least the money is going to a charity and not into someone's pocket. I would be a lot more pissed off about it if that wasn't the case.
That's too bad about the rest of the sale. If you'd like to deal with me on a individual basis I'll be more than happy to be accomodating
. Thanks for all the work you did put in. It must have been an absolute mess trying to deal with the emails/PMs.... Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

Hey Paul I don't think the sticky was aimed at this it seemed at the time it went up to be aimed more at people posting links to their e-bay auctions. It appeared straight after a thread for an e-bay auction which had turned into a bit of a bitching thread got locked.
Think charitable is mentioned to say it is the exception to the rule of no auctions on here. So if you contact 10c and say you are putting up a charity auction they will tell you yay or nay and then leave your thread alone. It's auctions with no charity involved that aren't allowed.Post edited by chime onSo are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -

agreed. I believe a PM to the mods with your fund-raising intentions and then approval and its all "kosher" from there. My interpretation of that thread/sticky was not intended for nonprofit fund-raising threads. Keep up the great work Paul. Thank you for all that you give and nothing that you take!!

maybe you are right, but I saw the immediate charitable mention as a link to this. Otherwise i dont see that in the first post it would have been thought of. It was too close on the timing and too close to the bone to be a coincidence.
Im not concerned about it in the slightest, Im delighted what we achieved these last few months, it will really make a difference, and Im so happy a little time put in can produce such great rewards financially, but lets not forget the extreme generosity of the owner donating these to make these sums possible. The dedication on the part of the owner is unbelievable and actually truely inspirational. All I have done is add a little of my time to organise it.
For the record I exchanged Pms with Kat, who was as lovely as she always is, and there was no suggestion of any problem with these threads, however it could not be confirmed that they were not aimed at them though, just that it was generally slanted. who knows, but what I am sure of is this hassle doesnt exist elsewhere0 -

I don't think it was aimed your way either. I hope in the future you guys can round up everything left over for another charity auction. Especially once I have some more money.
My setlists are awesome and I can't wait to frame them with the posters.
I think the problem was a week or two ago, you would log on to the board and the 15 of the first 20 threads were eBay links and posts about them. I guess the mods thought that stuff was getting out of control....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -

I read it as her saying auctions aren't ok UNLESS they are for charity ... I thought she had added that as she had in mind your threads and others like it and didn't want people who were auctioning for charity to think they could no longer do that here.
I think it's main aim was to stop (like pjcollectors does) people trying to link to their ebay auctions.
Any way thanks for what you've done. I'm sure the whole thing was a ton of work

You put that very well, and put my mind at rest too. Thank you Chime.0 -
Yea Paul, on your vacation there you missed a slew of threads where people were just putting up links to their eBay auctions... one posted by Snoopy (surprise suprise - sorry, not a dig at you Snoopy, I could careless what you're selling and how) got particularly heated... he posted a link to an his eBay auction that was for every PJ LP at once with a reserve (including ITW, Soldier Field, Lost Dogs, and a slew of rare 45's... only thing not in there was a Benny), and a lot of people seemed to get particularly incessed. I think it was just enough to make the mods snap.
There were also a bunch of threads circulating by people who just said something like "I have a bernoya LP that has to move, PM me"... which is essentially just someone conducting an auction via PMs.
I'm sure it was no direct aim at you.Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
