Hi kids, I'm back after 5 days in Downeast Maine. You've got to go if you've never been... amazing.

So, I'm loving Fenway's 5,000th post (and honored to have earned a mention!) and happy to see the thread is moving foward.

No confirmation from Ed yet? Must be busy with the wedding plans. I'm sure he's excited about the Hartford show. And if he needs a ride from the airport, I'd be happy to pick him up. I hope he doesn't mind traveling with three well-behaved dogs. Naw, he'd probably love that...

Do we have enough tables for food?

  • i dont think tables should be a problem...and anyways, after a few beers...who needs a table? we can get all cozy and whatnot on the ground on some blankets....
everyone could bring some type of food, a table and beverage
hows about some fireworks for when Ed arrives? Then, we could play on bigscreen for him his song that he sang/created for the Cubs, and then, after that we'll play Scott Stapp's song for the Marlins...just for a laugh and to show him how awesome he (Ed) is, because other people try so hard to be just like him?? We could just make a crappy projector screen out of a sheet or something...that way, in furtherance of showing our appreciation for Ed, we can throw eggs and tomatoes at it while Scott Stapp is on screen. After that, we replace the screen, and play a slideshow of Ed/PJ pics whilst playing PJ boots...

yes, this is all coming together very nicely
glad to see u back unlost....thought maybe you had to take down your co-worker :? at which point she reported you for over use of internet while on the clock 8-)

Okay, I just noticed I have 4,999 posts, so I'm making #5k a good one. This is somewhat a dubious distinction having five thousand posts. It shows what a complete dork I am for wasting as much time as I do on this here forum. But what it also does is make me reflect on the past year or so since I've been posting and the friendships I've made with the common theme of celebrating the greatest band in the world. Through this board, I have reconnected with one of my oldest and dearest friends after over a decade. It is truly a blessing to have a friend like youngster in my life again after all this time. Others I have met at Team McCready fundraisers and during that glorious triad of shows this May as well. Crazy Breed, LoveBoatAdmiral, CantKeepMeHere, ms. wes c. addle, Dissidentman, and joseevolution. I met twisted thoughts at the My Morning Jacket concert in Holyoke last month as well. She and her boyfriend Shawn are very very cool people to say the least. To the others, my boy Newch91, the lovely unlost dogs, generous and kind mfc2006, hilarious and straight-up zany Drop1The0Leash, and the always entertaining BinauralJam...I'll have the distinct pleasure of meeting you all at the EVCT11 pre-party. That, my friends, you can take to the bank. Pearl Jam has been an integral part of my life since 1996, when I first saw them that memorable night in Hartford. They have been with me through the good times and the bad, better or worse for exactly half my life. Yet for 13 of those 14 years I was unknowingly denying myself the opportunity to truly understand what this band is really all about: community. You guys make the sweet even sweeter. So on that excessively corny and sappy note, I bid you all good evening.

    Fenway

PS In addition, LukinFan, dimitrispearljam, norm, JearlPam, 81, pandora, he.who.forgets, chad and eyed, Black Diamond, neilybabes and arq all kick ass as well. Big fan of all you crazy kids.

Not corny at all. I loved what you had to say. It was nice. I'm glad I joined this club. I've "met" great people on here also: you, youngster, twisted thoughts, unlost dogs, dimitris, BinauralJam, tremors. Now if only I can meet all of you in person, which will happen at EVCT11!!

Hartford 96 was your first show?? That's awesome. That was my cousin's first PJ show also. I love that bootleg so much. Great show.

Nope, I'm here. Was enjoying Downeast Maine for five days. Gorgeous, but no 3G service. Which was actually good!

How about sparklers? I'll bet Eddie would enjoy sparklers.

I'm thinking we should have a big system that will wake Waterbury up for when he plays in my backyard/driveway. Hook up the iPod to the system for before and after Ed and it would be one long party. I'm thinking a weekend party? Friday - Sunday? Friday would be a meet and greet and sit around and listen to music. Saturday would be the big day, the all day event; 10 AM get the festivities started with music from the iPod blasting on the system. We play some games like the bean bag game. Get all the food and drinks organized. Eddie will go on around 4 or 5, play for a couple of hours and then we party it up with Eddie. While Eddie is performing, mfc will be giving us a Southern style BBQ that'll rock our taste buds and he'll still be enjoying the show. The partying would probably end around midnight. Then Sunday would be the public show at the Palace Theater around normal performance time. We invade downtown Waterbury.

How does that sound to all of you?

Are you going to the Big E this year? I might be. But I do like the camping grounds, Big E idea. One wild, crazy, and unique way of partying it up with Eddie Vedder.

Newch---I like the sound of that! As long as we put the bbq pit close to the stage! 8-) We have a lot of family on the East Coast---some that I haven't seen in a long time. We're moving (it's looking like Seattle) either next summer or the summer after that (depends on my wife's internship) & have decided that we need to make an east coast trip before we move to the West Coast. When I told her about this thread, she was stoked. Her 1st PJ show was at ACL last year & she loved it. She absolutely loves ITW and keeps saying that we need to hit an EV solo show. So, it's safe to say that we will be there! Sorry for the long-winded response....just got a bit excited is all! It'll be great to meet all of you & enjoy some awesome music. Count me & mrs. mfc2006 IN!
    I LOVE MUSIC.
