I knew it had been mentioned before ... but with the latest Death Metal discussion figured it could do with being mentioned again ;) ... we can all do with a bit of Queen now and then

That poor bear. Probably been alone in that tank (or had the same company for years). Along comes a new bear (who it probably thought was female), got excited, went for it, and knocked himself out.

My thought's exactly! They will build this up along with info about the Bridge Benefit show(s) this October. Nothing has been mentioned officially yet on pearljam.com. All we read was the interview Stone did with Billboard? about the plans & show's PJ has in store this October. Hopefully we will get all this & pre-order info of the box set in the Fall's Newsletter.

    Remember folks: Lowered Expectations!!!!!

I have a feeling we're going to be sorely disappointed D. Unless by some divine miracle this is a precursor to "The Vault" my guess is that this is going to be a simple LO2L live album from 2010. And with the boots already out there, my guess is this isn't directed at us. Rush producing a live album just in time for the holiday season seems to have become one of the record industry's standard tricks over the last few years. So super-deluxe box aside, I'm afraid this is gonna be one huge clusterfuck.

I've pretty much lost faith in the PJ camp when it comes to anything business or album related.

  • my money is on the thought that this is something like the under pressure dvd... not official... and not worth it.
  • I have to admit that I am not that excited about another live release. Unless it is Pre-2000 live recordings, like a boxset spanning the years between '90-'99. I doubt this is the case though. It is more than likely to be some sort of 2009 Spectrum or 2010 Tour compilation, which seems boring. I am however very curious as to what this will turn out to be.

The waiting is the hardest part...

Like I said before, some decent sounding vinyl friendly live recordings from anytime in the past ten years would more than make my year!! http://www.comeonpearljamgiveussomebloodynews.com

  • yeah, the novelty of LOTL was there, but as you said, because that was the pre-boot era. Now, it wouldn't interest me at ALL.

I think the 2nd word in your 2 word answer is exactly it, "ME". There is never a consensus here on what we want! Ask ten different people, you'll get ten different answers.it's a release, a product.... If you don't like it, don't buy it. Maybe the next go around they will make you happy. Just cause they put out one thing, doesn't mean whatever you had in mind won't happen at some point.

The format will be nice - more vinyl is definately a thumbs up. But the content (if not pre 2000) doesn't float my boat. Im of the opinion that PJ have saturated their own market with live stuff. It simply doesn't excite me anymore. As I said earlier I would much rather wait a couple of years for another rarities album.

I remember all those years ago when 2FM (an Irish radio station) broadcasted the live in Berlin gig 1996 (?). Oh how excited we were with our Maxell 90 min tapes ready to click record!!

I'll still buy whatever it is mind you :D
