The title is completely inappropriate given the bands history

so you are saying since rockskilde 00 the band isnt allowed/shouldn't be allowed to use the word "death" or death themes in their music? No offense but whose to say what is/isnt appropriate when coming up with music, lyrics (come back, light years, sad, other side... need i continue?)...pictures (who killed rudolph? xmas single frm 93!), videos (life wasted video). besides the band itself

my point is death has been a theme in some of their music frm the beginning...so now "death on two legs" which may or may not even be official is deemed inapropriate?

are you still going to buy it if it is, in fact, called death on two legs or will you boycott it on grounds of it being offensive, incensititve and inappropriate?

I don't think anyone is saying boycott...just that it's odd, or curious, maybe distasteful.. that's all.

i still dont see how the title is distasteful...so would that mean that pearl jam "death to false metal" tshirt is distasteful than?
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

Obviously. It has the word death in it.

I agree with you, Jimbo.. death has been an ongoing theme throughout Pearl Jam's music right from day one, and hardly find it distasteful. Especially considering we don't know the content, and thus context, of this mystery boxed set.

  • Come on people. Do you think the band is going to release something official and sell out before it's even released? And then you complain about it before the fact???

    I love this. Perfect! :)

    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
  • So management takes the time to seek out and contact both of those websites, telling them to take the links down....having no doubt found both the links right here on this message board....but they don't address the 26 page thread seeking info on if it's legit or not. You stay classy Pearl Jam management.

I don't think it is distasteful but I do think it is a terrible title. It makes me think of Megadeath or Anthrax, not Pearl Jam. Just my own opinion.

thats why i brought up the "death to false metal" tshirt... it definately reminds me of death metal...but who knows... they do put a lot of thought and meaning into everything they do... a la the avocado album concept for example...so who knows... its 2010... watch it go to fire... im sure there is some deeper meaning to the title...given their history w album art, titles, etc

could be their odd way of commemorating their 20th anniversary. two legs = each decade... death = 2010 ("watch it do to fire" dte lyrics)...
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

the shirt is different because it's talking about metal. the two legs is obviously talking about humans. hey I kinda like the title, but the roskilde families might not.
but yeah it is a lil silly to argue about this thing that don't exist.....................yet 8-)

^ oh yeah. forgot about that fact. :)
  • So my guess is... now that the links have been taken down probably for the earlier announcement, that means this will be an official release after all. And may be will be hearing some news from 10C in mid October.

My thought's exactly! They will build this up along with info about the Bridge Benefit show(s) this October. Nothing has been mentioned officially yet on pearljam.com. All we read was the interview Stone did with Billboard? about the plans & show's PJ has in store this October. Hopefully we will get all this & pre-order info of the box set in the Fall's Newsletter.

I always thought the LO2L name was inspired by the title of this song :?
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?
