Someone did earlier in the thread and the response was something along the lines of 'nothing to report at this time.'

oh man this link you guys posted few pages back (thanks by the way!)

    http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/1640282 ... oduct.html

...has me excited that this might very well be very similar to LO2L lp/cd. but for the Backspacer tour.
there will be a deluxe version available (that kicked off this thread), but also a more normal version just like LO2L.

    that's my take anyway.

    Deluxe LO2L? Care to elaborate?
  • I can understand a DVD with songs from various shows being cool, but a CD or Vinyl of various songs, that'd doesn't make sense to me. LOTL was cool because that was pre-official bootlegs. But now we have bootlegs of every show from every tour. We have all of the live music we could ever need. I think a vinyl of one show would be cool, but we've got hundreds of shows to put together our own mix tape of.

    I'll still buy it though.

The deposit deal at What Records doesn't mean you're not obligated to buy the thing does it? It just means $10 now and the rest later when it ships, right? That's the impression I got anyway. I could see a lot of people paying the deposit and then saying they don't want it and they are not losing much, but that might screw over the guys at What, which they don't deserve.

They've been pretty upfront about all the info they know, so no need to buy it unless you're sure. It's not like they're tricking anyone...

You're thinking like a huge die-hard fan like we all are here on the boards. But the casual fan or just a music enthusiast generally doesn't care for bootlegs of every show. A lot of the "common folk" would like to have an album with the best versions of the best live songs from a tour edited together without little screw-ups or the banter with the crowd that so many of us die-hards love.

Yes but something like this is clearly aimed at die-hards. Common folk aren't going to care about something like this.

This sort of item it not targeted for "casual fans" as casual fans would not drop that kind of money. I doubt there were many casual fans who bought the Super Deluxe Ten Remastered...But I might be wrong.

But there is a regular cd version of this release. Sure the "limited edition" box set with extras like posters is for the die-hards (that's why it's limited), but the cd version release will be for the casual fan.

The Ten re-issue massive box set with extras I'm sure wasn't bought by casual fans, but there was cheaper cd version of that as well. I imagine much more regular cds sold than the $120 box set.

I think this new box set (if it's legit) is a way to get the die-hards something extra and get us more excited for it rather than if it was just released as a cd compilation show.

But really if we could just get some info from 10c then all this speculation could end which would be nice.

The name makes me think its a bootleg, but it is eerily similar to the 10 box. Can Music on Vinyl do super deluxe editions or does it have to be Sony? This could jive with the post earlier this week (maybe last) that vs and vitalogy are being reissued in november. Maybe theyll reissue them in the same box (since the super deluxe edition has 1990-1992 on the side, they could do 1993-1994 for vs/vitalogy since they were so close together, relatively speaking)

And think about the title... "Death On Two Legs" = "Vs, Life (original album title for Vitalogy) are two albums". Makes sense to me! Vitalogy extends most of 1995 though too, so we may get a 1993-1995. Makes a hell of a lot of sense. Plus, neither need to be re-mastered, so maybe we get an album similar to the extra tracks on Ten Redux, then on vinyl, and some live tracks (bridging bit on the CD where we can download vault shows maybe).

    Rad!

"It is a Live Recording released through Universal/Island." It's not going to be the Vs/Vitalogy reissue

I won't believe this until I see it. The title is a little uncreative for PJ.
"All I Ever Knew" available now in print and digital formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.

I thought exactly the same thing. Hopefully its a mistake of some sort.
