    Reminds me of April 12, 1994 ...

A group of us had 4 tickets to the Orpheum show in Boston ... 2 were about 10th row, aisle ... the other two, last row balcony.

My friend got in a car accident 2 days before the show, so, her and her husband took the two very back seats thinking they'd be out of the way and could relax, me and the other girl took the 10th row seats ... wow ... I've never been more happy that someone got in an accident in my life.

    So tips ...

    1) get out of the way of the poster freaks ... from what I've heard about the last MSG shows, you'll probably get run over.
    2) don't drink (sorry) ... you have to limit the bathroom breaks ...

    hmm, what am I missing?

if you're having it scoped on the 16th, you'll be off crutches by the 24th.....unless you're a sissy

I had a walker at a pearl jam show back in 2003. I had a seat on the end so I could rest my waler on the side of the seat. I also had a very nice group of pj fans escort me out of the show and into the parking lot at the end of the night when security needed us to leave the venue after the show was over. They even bitched at security for being rude, and we got to stay a bit.
I'm sure there will be some awesome pj fans there to help you to your seat and back if you need it. I only wish I had kept in contact with the awesome people I met at that show. If mid level is too much trouble, call and see if the venue can move you to the reserved section for people in wheel chairs and crutches. I had a friend that had a knee surgery and the venue moved them up there. She ended up getting to meet Rivers of Weezer and got a pick. Those seats are probably really close to the stage since they are on the floor. Can't guarantee the venue will move you, but it's worth a shot.

I broke my foot skin boarding the week before MSG on 2003, and I just made sure the lady at the front door saw me with my crutches and I asked nicely if I could be let in early and she did let me in before everyone starting running in to see if they could get the non-existent posters in the booths inside ...

Once in the show I asked the people beside me to be careful with my leg, I drank a couple of beers and rocked my 25th birthday on my crutches!

    Have fun!!!! :D

PS: I was mid row too

My friend was on crutches for Montreal, Ottawa and Philly 05 because of a knee issue. My advice- get there early, so you can take your time getting to your seats. Definitely wait for the majority of people to leave, as the steps are slim and you don't want to fall if some rude person slams into you.

In Ottawa, the venue staff was so accommodating, and let us go backstage to use their elevator. This will most likely not happen at MSG.

Call the box office directly and explain the situation and that you already have tix. They may be able to switch you to handicapped accessable seating, which is basically in folding chairs just behind the 200 the section. This would be good as you'll be a little higher up than the people in front of you and wont have to stand the entire show to see. This is why they put wheelchairs there. Ask for the box office manager when some $8 hr phone jockey answers the phone and says nothing can be done. Good luck and have fun.

    mid row seats?

i'd try and bargin with the guy on the isle to have his seat and have him take yours.

i think for your sake and your row's sake, you are better off being on the end. offer him/her a beer for the swap and see what happens.

Call the venue in advance or speak to someone on the night as a friends did at PJ Wembley 2000 and got a sweet front row seat near the front of the side.

Ditto on what everyone else said about asking about handicap or wheelchair accessible seating. I went to a Red Hot Chilli Peppers show when I had a broken leg and was still in the cast. It was actually a very comical situation getting to the venue, because it was downhill slightly and about 6 blocks from where I lived at the time. I stuffed the crutches in the back of the wheelchair (I was using one because I chose to stay in college for the rest of the semester and was very active doing stuff) and rolled down to the show. I did call in adavance too and ask about handicap seating. They offered to put me towards the back of the arena in a seat-less "platform" sort of area for wheelchairs, but I found that my side stage seats were better and weren't too hard to get to. I left the chair with a security guard nearby, and I crutched it to get to the bathroom or whatever when the show started. It wasn't too bad. I would definitely say go early and leave late though.
    I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.

i was on crutches for msg 1 and 2 back in 2003. they let you go up to your seats on the elevator rather than using the escalators. so you should see some VIPS ;) or if they have handicapped seats available they can move you. but the section can be worse than what you have.

i had a broken tib/fib and surgery to put in a plate/screws and i was ok - stood up the whole night - after the show went to first aid for ice pack to help the swelling. you'll be fine :D
