A group of us had 4 tickets to the Orpheum show in Boston ... 2 were about 10th row, aisle ... the other two, last row balcony.
My friend got in a car accident 2 days before the show, so, her and her husband took the two very back seats thinking they'd be out of the way and could relax, me and the other girl took the 10th row seats ... wow ... I've never been more happy that someone got in an accident in my life.
So tips ...
1) get out of the way of the poster freaks ... from what I've heard about the last MSG shows, you'll probably get run over.
2) don't drink (sorry) ... you have to limit the bathroom breaks ...
hmm, what am I missing?

I had a walker at a pearl jam show back in 2003. I had a seat on the end so I could rest my waler on the side of the seat. I also had a very nice group of pj fans escort me out of the show and into the parking lot at the end of the night when security needed us to leave the venue after the show was over. They even bitched at security for being rude, and we got to stay a bit.
I'm sure there will be some awesome pj fans there to help you to your seat and back if you need it. I only wish I had kept in contact with the awesome people I met at that show. If mid level is too much trouble, call and see if the venue can move you to the reserved section for people in wheel chairs and crutches. I had a friend that had a knee surgery and the venue moved them up there. She ended up getting to meet Rivers of Weezer and got a pick. Those seats are probably really close to the stage since they are on the floor. Can't guarantee the venue will move you, but it's worth a shot.

I broke my foot skin boarding the week before MSG on 2003, and I just made sure the lady at the front door saw me with my crutches and I asked nicely if I could be let in early and she did let me in before everyone starting running in to see if they could get the non-existent posters in the booths inside ...
Once in the show I asked the people beside me to be careful with my leg, I drank a couple of beers and rocked my 25th birthday on my crutches!
Have fun!!!!
PS: I was mid row too
In Ottawa, the venue staff was so accommodating, and let us go backstage to use their elevator. This will most likely not happen at MSG.
I am off to bed now, gotta get a flight to West Palm in the morning for my vacation/anniversary/PJ... I will be knee braced up for this one.

i'd try and bargin with the guy on the isle to have his seat and have him take yours.
i think for your sake and your row's sake, you are better off being on the end. offer him/her a beer for the swap and see what happens.
Dude- you rock!!!
