This would make two members of my family sooooo happy.
Sadly, they are not the ones in the family who can afford to get the package.
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

Speaking to an acquaintance last night at the Springsteen show, the subject of PJ at FEnway came up as he knows I'm a large fan.
He works venue security at most Boston area venues...his inside info for the frontrunner for Fenway 2008 was not Pearl Jam it was a band from New Jersey. And not the band I saw last night.
I hope he is wrong, but he normally isn't.

I had heard, not from any reliable source, that PJ may have been on the short list for 2007, but the Police stepped in ...

I'll still keep hope alive ...

    PEARL JAM - FENWAY PARK - 2008

What was the final bid .... how close to my 10k guess did it go?

What's the deal, there can only be 1 concert held at Fenway Park each year?

JD I'm pretty sure that's the case b/c it'll get ripped to shreds with more shows on it, and the Sox seem to think they have something of a dynasty growing...though resigning Lowell could prevent it ;).

2 concerts, 1 act for 2 nights. (Starting in 2003 the acts have been Springsteen, Jimmy Buffet, The $tone$, Dave Matthews Band and The Police)
That is all the city will allow, and the Sox probably wouldn't want the field used any more for a big stage set up anyway.

  • Found this on Boston.com:

    "Theo, pal raise $8,000
Want to hang out with Theo Epstein and Stone Gossard? Too late. WEEI auctioned the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity yesterday for $8,000 as a fund-raiser for the Huntington's Disease Society of America. The winner will be wined and dined by the Sox GM and his Pearl Jam pal, and then watch a game from a Sox suite."

    damn...
  • from the boston herald:

That it’s all supposed to be hush-hush, but word is that either Bruce Springsteen (again) or Bon Jovi will play Fenway Park [map] in August. “It’s a coin toss,” said Someone Who Knows. There was some chatter than U2 might play the old ballyard, but the band’s new album doesn’t come out untilfall, so it’s unlikely they’ll tour before then
