Don't like farting about bidding and bidding just to see reserve not met. Waste of time.

The reserve is probably $500 seeing that the non-paying bidder won the auction at $512.

read his message to me...I included it in the item description in the re-listed item...he claims that he accidentally bid on it....yeah....so I'm already out $50 in final value fee, plus both listing fees which sits at about $76 total....I'll recoup the fees, but cannot file against him until the 28th

no....if you go to the item listing at the bottom there is a link to two feet thick that'll give you all the information you need on this album

no kidding eh. It's waste of time and effort (and I think ebay charges the seller more to use a reserve). Why not just set the min. bid at what you were going to set the reserve at? That way no one can bid at a price lower then you want for it. Reserves are lame :(

    Jose? is that arq? :0)
  • the purpose of a reserve is a benefit to the seller, potentially. it can backfire, but the potential benefit is why it costs more to the seller. you see an awesome item such as this, and you get excited. you want to bid. you don't know the reserve, so you bid hoping to hit it. you don't. you keep trying. it drives up the excitement in any particular potential buyer, thus possibly generating a sale merely because someone wanted it and now doesn't want to let it go, with the person now a little more easy with parting with that kind of money. If that same person just saw $500 from the start, they'd most likely just move on. A low initial price with a reserve gets more looks. pretty simple marketing. it's not lame at all, it's smart. and that's why it frustrates you.

wow only 365.00. I wonder if snoopy had some "friends" helping that first auction get up to 512.00. Honest question, I have one I was thinking of selling if they were going for 500+.

    A. I have no friends (and certainly not any friends from overseas)

    B. The last one to sell on Ebay sold for $651

    C. It was a one day auction and like the listing said, it goes back in the vault, no harm, no foul

You should research values before making silly statements...and if you really wanna sell yours, PM me and I can give you the Ebay username of the person who bid $502(they are from the Netherlands or something) and would have won the first auction if it wasn't for a certain liar...

    Have a lovely day

Nothing personal, just wondering how that could happen, I guess it was the quick 1 day list that could have caused it.

Yes, but that one was sealed. Big difference for some people between sealed and "opened but never played".

and that is why my reserve was at $500....a big difference indeed ;)

on a different note, isn't it crazy that the last 2 SEALED Benny's have sold for less than $600?!?!?!?! :o

  • why would you try to sell this? do you have more than one? I just ask because this is a big source of bragging by you all over this place, so it would surprise me that you'd want to get rid of it! :D

You told me someone would maybe buy mine for 502.00(second highest bidder from you ebay auction), why aren't you selling to them if you only want 500? Honest Question.

Do you think that that's a good deal? Isn't that about what they usually go for?

    vinyls gone mad...prices

but saying that this is the best pearl jam vinyl out...kicks benny into the corner.

    good luck snoops ..

did you see the 7" unknown thought price

    now thats crazy

  • I only have the one....not in any hurry to sell it....have to CDs too....also burned the CDs onto my hardrive...the damn CDs sold a few days ago for $285...Jesus :o

Sometimes I feel like selling some of my stuff because I play guitar and get itchy all over for another piece of gear (like the Boogie Trident I just picked up the other day)...I am very much like that, I guess....itching to have something one day...ready to part with it the next...

I was seriously considering selling all my PJ records in one shot, the soldier field, my sealed ITW, Drop in the park, all studio records (a couple of which are sealed) just to see how much they'd fetch, test the market and see where it's at...I literally have hundreds of records and am pretty busy working 60+ hours a week and spending the rest of my time with my two kids and wife....I find that most of my free time is spent playing guitar, which is really my time to forget about the everyday stresses....and spinning PJ on the turntable doesn't even touch what playing guitar does for me......so that's it in a nutshell

so maybe you'll see my dumb ass posting another Ebay auction for every PJ record (except the Benny, I sold both of my copies to finance a new Les Paul) in the next day or so....

    Who knows?....

Okay rival, here's the deal....I know this record will be worth way more than $500 in the not too distant future...and I'm an old bastard (38) who has no reason not to hold onto it until it's more worth my while to sell...$500 is a lot for a record, but not really alot if you know what I mean...$500 doesn't go very far in my world.....but then again if you read my post above, I may sell it anyways....even I don't know what the fuck I'm gonna do.........
