    you're a peach.

Thank you as well billy!! You too have opened my eyes! You as well are right and I am wrong! I should have looked at his post count....I should have done waaaay more research before just posting the first thing that came to my mind. I am glad you pointed those things out to me, as they totally slipped my mind! You have a GREAT day as well!! :D

Well come on , Billy? Do you really think I needed you to point any of that out to me?? You should have looked at my post count and realized that I have been around here for a while! ;)

Sometimes better just to admit you are wrong and walk away...So that is what I am doing! I admitted defeat! I admitted you were all right and I see the err of my ways...What more do you want? An apology?

And Im not a peach, but Ill be your huckleberry! :-)

That other thread was a full on moan thread.... If you don't get that go back and re read it.

If you have a question for the mods - for example Kat, go ahead and pm her... Believe it or not Kat is human and may even answer you. I have always found this to be the case... Opening a thread that moans about the threads others make is just stupidity, if you don't wanna read about collecting then don't read them

And can anyone not see the point made above about 10c not wanting to moderate these sales is totally relevant too.... Can you imagine the bitching if they didn't intervene in a failed trade????

You have an irritating habit of addressing me indirectly.

Sure it was a moan thread, based on the fact that 90% of the porch topics seem to be about 'purchasables', and most threads not in that category attract this 'moan' thing which you are also doing a lot of currently.

You know, I have form here as well - and was a regular on this board 1999-2003 or thereabouts, but felt I had to leave partly because of what I see as pretty superficial attitudes towards very important music. I enjoyed the pre-Binaural board a lot largely because of the diversity in the mainstream ('porch') topics.

So having been doing some reflection during my return stint about what prevents the more stimulating discussions about pearl jam happening in the main arena, I have concluded that one of the main reasons is there is no appropriate posting section to deal with the 'collecting and purchasing' of posters, vinyl, boots, new releases, re-releases, old heirlooms etc etc

I have tried to bring it up in a better argued fashion previously (I believe), but have got nowhere - so today was the 'f-in and blindin' thread. Sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was get myself and others worked up at this particular point in time- but like this thread's original poster, I just think there is room for improvement, and I have an idea of how things used to be, many moons ago.

A little fun with the Porch forum search results:
    Sale: 24,424
    Eddie: 22,228
    Vedder: 9,557
    Bump: 8,028
    Guitar: 7,399
    Trade: 6.838
    Jeff: 5,399
    Ament: 1,126

Interesting. Most of the 8,028 "bumps" are simply the word "bump" in a thread marked "sale".

    That said, bump! :)

Took all of 2, perhaps 3 minutes of time. Shorter than sifting through sale threads to find music related ones.

Surprisingly there were only 254 matches when the word "Gaspar" is typed into the search function. Never any love for Boom.

Proves that the search function works great though. Maybe employ it to search for music related threads to save yourself some time in the future. Just a thought. :-)

It would also be nice if they could start another forum for buying/trading/selling tickets (at face value).

Maybe they just don't want the hassle when people inevitably get ripped off.

Good point. OR, they can make a separate area for music related threads. :)

    hehehe

I decided to take the sensible advice of an earlier poster and 'move on'. I'm sure it was John Lydon that first said 'anger is an energy', but why let the sad songs play eh? (btw this isn't a poem)

A search for 'Lydon' across the main 2 boards: 22 posts (3 of them by or quoting myself!)
