    I got 32***

Member since summer -93, Fist letter I got was in black/white with Neil Young on the front page. PJ was opening act for him in Europe -93, (also opening for U2 -93)

Joined because the 45" and got em all.
Bought TEN as a CD 8 May -92. YES exact that day. Alive video was the one that got my hart to spinn.

Acually never cared about the number, cos Ill never travel to the US for a gig, I dont like the chair thing. I want PJ gig the BERLIN way.

Have only bought ONE 10C ticket and it was this year for Berlin. Front row for the first time, Mc side. Use to stand 10-15th row and dont need a 10C ticket for that, I usaly go alone and dont get why 10C only sell tickets as pair.

    Best Pj memory is Eds pre opener Stockholm 2000, a fantastic 5 song set;

    Last Kiss
    Trouble
    Dead Man Walking
    Parting Ways
    Throw Your Arms Around Me
(sad that this isnt on the Offical boot)

As you se below I havent been to that many shows, I got 12 hours drive to Berlin and they probably never visit Sweden again :( So who knows if I ever see them again. But I loved the times I did.

  • if I'da known how it was going to turn out, I would have joined when I was in high school. But heck, back then what did being in a fan club get you? A newszine once in a while and an address to send for autographs?
I'm not 4 digits or less 116xxx, but I think I have a decent story to tell.

I grew up on Bainbridge Island and knew Andy Wood, Ben Shepard, Chad Channing, etc. pretty well. Particularly Ben and Andy. Shoot, one time in middle school I even performed at a talent show prior to Malfunkshun playing (I thouroughly sucked). I graduated from high school in '89 so the timing was perfect in that I was hitting my peak at the same time as grunge. Have been lucky enough to see Malfunkshun, Mother Love Bone, Mookie Blaylock, PJ, AIC, Soundgarden, Tad, Green River, Mad Season, Grunt Truck, etc...all quite a few times throughout the various venues in Seattle. Shoot, either my sophomore or junion year in High School the original members of Nirvana played on a skate ramp that me and my buddies built and skated on daily. The cops came...ruined the whole thing and they only played for about 45 minutes.
Christ Jesus that is a good story. I'm surprised you weren't an extra in Singles.

  • Whether in or out of the club, just once I want to sit front row. Is that even possible?

Side note: I used to have a very low number- signed up back in the 'write in' days, 1992. But I moved so much in college, too many addresses, I was finally 'lost'.

I also begged, wrote in, for my old number, to no avail. I joined because I wanted the 'holiday' singles. I came to the Seattle area in middle school, so Pearl Jam infiltrated my soul before '10' was released. I stood next to Eddie, waiting patiently to meet him, at Mike Ranquet's property in what used to be BFE Renton, at a huge party with a enormous skate ramp. I got grounded for 2 months that night because I didn't make curfew. If Eddie was standing next to you, would you make curfew???!!!
I want to sit front row just once...

It's been awesome reading these posts, for sure...massive respect to super longtime club members. But we shouldn't assume that everyone who didn't join the Ten Club until recently aren't longtime fans. Not everyone has followed them since the beginning, of course, and some people ARE new to PJ and this fan club. Welcome aboard! But the level of Pearl Jam dedication isn't necessarily related to a person's club membership #. I have literally been following and loving this band since 1991. Not gonna claim I saw them at the Off Ramp 20 years ago, or that I've seen them live 100 times, but I've been there, every year, listening and watching and only loving them more and more every year. Just never joined the Ten Club until 2010. Sue me. ;)
