I’m not sure how to online, maybe someone else can help with that route.

If you have any mailings from the 10c your member number is printed by your address.

Or you could probably shoot the club an email and request it.

Ah, thanks. I'd wondered how to find my number. I've got the envelope that my 1st copy of Deep in magnetted up on my fridge, so I looked & OMG my number is 449xxx :o OMG! OMG! I don't wanna ever hear anyone complaining about their number again!!! ;) (unless it is actually worse, ie they joined later than me of course ;) )

I have a 4 digit #. I joined the Ten Club in Sept 91 when ten was released. I wanted to see PJ in fall 91 with Pumpkins and Peppers but was out of town on business when they played in Syracuse . In 92 I moved to NJ and saw PJ at Limelight in NYC. Very cool show and only time I have seen them open with Oceans. I have always renewed and try to go to as many shows as I can. Like everyone else I get shut out of ten club tix for big shows. I just saw them at Pru center in NJ as the club sold me tix since I was shut out of both Garden shows. I scalped a ticket and saw MSG 2 with upper level seats and had a great time. Interesting effect PJ had on me is I used to get fanzine called Footssteps and read siome info about some of the band members being vegetarians. I tried it 17 years ago and never went back to eating meat. Lately PJ has helped me out quite a
bit emotionaly as when I first heard Backspacer with and the End I thought to myself; Someone close to one of them must have died recently. My younger sister Amanda died unexpectedly from a undetected heart issue at 43 just eight weeks ago. The song The End has helped me cope with my loss. Seeing it performed live had a special meaning for me. Taking my 14 year old son to the first of the Spectrum shows last Oct was a highlight for me. We lotteried for front row center and Ed handed my son a pick. He also looked right at my son when he sang "we are young"!" during drop the leash. That was an experience my son and I will always share.
I like lots of bands but PJ has been there for me since 91 and their songs make my life fuller. The ten club has been a great place to keep up with the band and learn about different causes and opportunities to make a difference in the world. I will never let my membership lapse.

  • I'm not 4 digits or less 116xxx, but I think I have a decent story to tell.

I grew up on Bainbridge Island and knew Andy Wood, Ben Shepard, Chad Channing, etc. pretty well. Particularly Ben and Andy. Shoot, one time in middle school I even performed at a talent show prior to Malfunkshun playing (I thouroughly sucked). I graduated from high school in '89 so the timing was perfect in that I was hitting my peak at the same time as grunge. Have been lucky enough to see Malfunkshun, Mother Love Bone, Mookie Blaylock, PJ, AIC, Soundgarden, Tad, Green River, Mad Season, Grunt Truck, etc...all quite a few times throughout the various venues in Seattle. Shoot, either my sophomore or junion year in High School the original members of Nirvana played on a skate ramp that me and my buddies built and skated on daily. The cops came...ruined the whole thing and they only played for about 45 minutes.

Anyway, PJ was my favorite of all those bands at the time. It was close though between Soundgarden, AIC and PJ, but PJ was the king (even though Ben Shepard and I were decent acquaintences. We rode the ferry every day together). I'm at a Sonics game and know that PJ is playing later that night at the Moore Theatre and can't wait. Turns out the show is for fan club members only but they also invited the San Antonia Spurs (I believe it was the Spurs) who had Dennis Rodman on their team at the time. So, I didn't get in and I was fucking livid!! The next day I wrote this long letter to the Fan Club bitching about how I couldn't get in to the show because I wasn't a member of their precious fan club and yet they invited the Spurs. At the time I was very anti band fan club and found them to be a waste of money, pretentious and down right retarded. I went to every show, bought all the merch, followed the band members, etc. I was a GIANT fan. Shit, I even went to all those guys' off shoot bands. ALL OF THEM. About a week later I get a letter from the 10 club thanking me for having an opinion and to insert to their pre-paid postage return envelop the $5 to join the prescious fan club. I've been a member ever since.

I wish I would have kept both the letter I wrote and the one I got back. Both were charged with attitude and snide comments. Long Live PJ

I don't think they do this anymore - haven't noticed on the last few yours - but on the 2003 tour they posted the range of fan club numbers who had tickets at the pick up window. In San Antonio the range started with 6000 or so. I would imagine that bigger city shows (Seattle, NYC, Boston, LA, Chicago) probably had even lower numbers in attendance. I still vividly remember seeing that sign and thinking how cool it must be to have a number that low. I was born a few years too late - only 10 when 10 came out, otherwise I'd like to think I'd have a much lower number. ;)

Buddy of mine had a 5 digit back in the early 90's. He let it lapse and ended up with a much higher number than I had.

I joined the 1st time in 96-98 (166,xxx sticks in my head for some reason), let it lapse while in school and rejoined in the early 00's. I let it lapse again a few years ago and as it turns out again this year. @$#%#$%# I'm glad I took the time to read this thread and go see my number (406,xxx now 459,xxx after renewing). Looks like my buddy is ahead of me again.

I'll have to see if I still have old mailers with the orginal numbers on it.

Seems kinda silly to me to lose your number. Steady stream of renewal income I guess.

    Fan Club Number 3XX

In Hartford this year and MSG 1 & MSG 2 my wife and I met a very nice women in her 40's who had a number that was 3xx. Yes 3 digits! She only sees the band around her hometown area, and was sitting in the best non lottery seat that is possible. 3rd row dead dead center. In MSG for night 1 they put her 2nd row dead center. We joked that if she won the lottery it would be a punishment because if they moved her to the left or right more than 10 feet or so she would have worse seats than her dead center spot they always put her in. She was not to bitter about the lottery pushing her back from seats that had always been front row , but a little disappointed. All in all she was a very nice lady. Night 1 of MSG she brought her young daughter with her who Ed sang "Daughter" to and commented about her during the show.

They are out there. My few friends that I go to shows with have 67xxx, 72xxx, 45xxx, all 5 digits. Mine is 118xxx 6 digits but 3 digits are out there.

Ummmm, wow! My number is 116xxx and I regularly sit 5th or 6th row, sometimes dead center depending on venue. I'm at all Seattle and Portland shows. Seattle I'll be 6th row off to the side. Portland I'll be anywhere from 4th to 6th row dead center.
  • I have a very short story to tell about a PJ fan club member who had a pair of low #tickets and we ended up front row dead center.

The ten club Jamily has brought much happiness to my life thanks CG!!!! I will NEVER forget my experience. EVER!!!! EVER!!!!! EVER!!!! :D:D:D

    Andrew,
Just out of curiousity, for the first Philly show, do you happen to remember if you were standing next to a guy with a beard in a white Uncle Bruce Springsteen shirt? I won the lottery for this show, and I was next to a guy who looked like he had a younger kid with him, perhaps his son. I don't mean to sound like a stalker, but when I read your post, I couldn't help but think I may have been right next to you for this show. If that's the case, it's pretty sweet. It was an unbelievable show, and one I will always remmeber due to my great seats and for the fact that it started a run of four incredible shows. I was lucky enough to be at them all. If you aren't sure, you might remember that I had a white and red triangular rock, the Yield rock, with me that I held up during every song from Yield. Biggest highlight was hearing All Those Yesterdays for the first time and getting the head nod from Ed as I was holding up the Yield rock. Also, I was the frist person to shake his hand when he came out onto the barrier during Rocking in the Free World. You can youtube it to check. (Sorry, I am still really stoked about that moment, I had to give it a plug.) I was first row, right in front of Jeff. If you aren't the guy, sorry for bugging you. Also, sorry for posting this in a thread about 4 digit numbers, as my number is no where near that low. My first album was Yield and I was 14.

Hello. I know this asked for three digit numbers, but I do love mine (# 43XXX) and here are some facts.

    Member since Vs.
First show Vitalogy Tour Austin, TX - Sucked. Anyone that remembers South Parks Meadows will agree. G.A. show.
Second show Yield Dallas, TX - Great show, seats o.k. Wished I had bought that poster, dang it!
Third show Binaural Tour - Cynthia Woods-Houston, TX. 1st Row, center stage in front of Ed. Enough said.
Fourth show Riot Act - Selma/San Antonio, TX. 1st Row, center stage in front of Ed.
Fifth show Riot Act - Cynthia Woods-Houston, TX. 1st Row, pretty much center again.

Missing like 3 fan club letters, but got several goodies from them during the early days.
Have had the honor of meeting Stone, Dave K. and Jeff.
    Have be given guitar picks.
    Never got a set list.
Mike gave me a water bottle ?!? at one show.
Got to drink from ed's wine bottle at the Binarual show.
Been a great ride, and as other's have mentioned, membership renewal date is probably the most important date of the year...don't tell me wife!

or at least get the lottery at some point. Man its kinda depressing knowing that I dont have a good chance at getting decent seats

But at least no matter what there will be other 10c members there to talk to :) Regardless of numbers, you guys seem really chill, and I can't wait till the day I talk to some of you in person at a PJ show!

i sat next to a lovely american lady at melbourne 2 2006. she was on her own. first level side stage and i think she said it was her 124th show or thereabouts. my mate and i asked her what vicinity her number was and she smirked and said "it's quite low", but wouldnt suggest any more than that. she said she gets the same seat for every show side stage.

she then gave my mate and a couple of recent dvd boots at the end of the show when we told her we were travelling the entire tour. :) viva la 10c.
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

(Sorry, I am still really stoked about that moment, I had to give it a plug.) I was first row, right in front of Jeff. If you aren't the guy, sorry for bugging you. Also, sorry for posting this in a thread about 4 digit numbers, as my number is no where near that low. My first album was Yield and I was 14.[/quote]
I dont think I was standing next to you because I would remeber a guy with a rock in his hand.
Sounds like you had a great time.

I don't really have a great story, but my number is pretty low at 2X,XXX. I remember seeing the info for the fan club on the inside of the VS cd back in the 7th grade and thought it would be cool to join. I had never joined another fan club before and haven't joined any others since. Needless to say, back when I joined I was 13 and thought it was just really cool to get a couple newsletters and a 45. This was back before the internet so really the only way I got info about PJ was through the fan club newsletters and reading magazines.

I had no idea back then how much it would eventually pay off to stay in the club all these years. I've had the good luck of having some great seats to all the shows I've gone to since 2000. The best I've had were 1st row in Chicago '06 both nights right between Ed and Stone, just unreal. The last couple shows I've gone to (VA Beach '08, Chicago 1 '09) I had 3rd row dead center which was equally as sweet.

I remember for the VA Beach show I had to find someone to take my extra ticket because my wife couldn't go with me at the last minute. I posted on the board to see if anyone wanted it and met them at the show. It was a riot because I didn't tell them what my # was but just said that the seats should be pretty decent. Needless to say they had quite the look on their face when we picked up the tix at will-call, very cool stuff.

Anyone know around what time did the member # turned 5 or 6 digit (just curious)? I joined in the beginning of '96 and my number is 13xxxx.
I joined September 1993, and my number is 5 digits 39xxx

  • Whether in or out of the club, just once I want to sit front row. Is that even possible?

Side note: I used to have a very low number- signed up back in the 'write in' days, 1992. But I moved so much in college, too many addresses, I was finally 'lost'.

    Andrew,
I guess we weren't next to each other. It must have been another father son combo. The two guys I was next to also left as RITFW began to play, and missed a chance to shake Ed's hand. Very unfortunate for them. The Yield Rock isn't very big, only about 3-4 inches across. It was a rock my brother and I found years ago that was just too perfect of a triangle not to hold some Yield significance. I guess that sounds strange, but before he moved, we used to travel to PJ concerts together. He moved a month after the Europe 2007 tour, and we were lucky enough to go to 3 shows (should have been 4, but Venice was cancelled) on that tour as a sort of sending off for his move. I have carried the Yield rock to every show since we found it, and I hold it up during every Yield song. I even thought about giving it to Ed instead of shaking his hand, but I didn't know if that would be too weird. Who knows?

And just for the people asking about getting good seats without having a good number, it's possible. You have to be lucky, or in the right place at the right time. I'm not complaining about my normal seats, most of the time they are fine, in the wing a section or two back, but I have been lucky enough to be in the front row twice in 22 shows. The aforementioned lottery win at Philly 1, and also in Munich in 2007. It was GA on the floor, and 10club went in early. We hit it just right by getting our tickets and being let in at the right time. They actually stopped a large group of people because they had let us all in too early, but then they let us in because we were being staged in this glass hallway that was super hot. We didn't do anything that the people working there didn't let us, but we got lucky and were on the rail right in front of Stone. Never thought I would top that, but then Philly 1 came along. So it can be done. You have to believe...
