Bad Religion because I'm a medium fan of them anyway. But, the only band I would have never heard of before they opened for Pearl Jam was....

The Fastbacks. The only other good band at all IMO that ever opened. I'm still convinced junk jokers like MMJ blahhhhhhhhhh and KOL ewwwwwwwwwwww are ONLY big because... well.... if PJ had them on tour they must be good! Both those bands blow.

    mudhoney '93 - no recollection
X '98 - love the band, not impressive that night
    supergrass '00 - think i missed them
    idlewild '03 - no recollection
    sonic youth '06 - loud
recently, ben and boh have been decent, but not spectacular

the dude who opened for them at the vic was decent. :shifty:

really, how many opening acts for any band are memorable? not many, in my experience. usually, too small of a repertoire, too short of a set, a disinterested audience and a band that would be better in a club than in an arena.

Social Distortion is one I've enjoyed the most by far.

Sorta of OT, but am I imagining seeing Lifehouse open for PJ on a second stage in 2000 - I think it was at a show in Ohio?

I had no idea who My Morning Jacket was before they open for Pearl Jam, and now they're my 2nd favorite band.

After seeing Ben/ Ed singing Hunger Strike, trust me i'm kicking myself the ass for not catching Band of Horses.

i think i was damaged long ago, i saw "The The" ......ya......... open for Depeche Mode back in '93.
they didn't even turn the light's off.

i Swore then to skip all opening acts. my only exception was catching Liam and that crazy chick opening for Ed in Jersey '08, but that had more to do with not being late and not being familiar w/ the area.
