I never saw this posted here before. So I just finished the Tillman book (very good) and Jon specifically thanks Ed and Sean "for providing counsel and support over the long haul." I wonder if they became friends after Into the Wild? Sounds like it. I think Krakauer could do an incredible book on Vedder, especially if he were to cooperate with it.

I agree. Krakauer would do a good job. I was also thinking Cameron Crowe would write a great book on Eddie or the entire band.

At LA4 in 2009 Ed spoke about the Tillman book and said Jon was in the audience. Sean Penn was also there - in the seat behind me. 8-)

The Tillman book is a great read. I reccommend it. Its an eye-opener, and its very well written. Into The Wild is one of my faves!

I didn't feel Into the Wild was all that well written. I would have preffered he stick with Chris and leave some of the personnal climbing stuff out. I did, however, enjoy the climbing portion but I felt it interupted the flow of the book.

Jon Krakauer is a customer of mine and a very cool person to talk to about things other than his books.

I have read lust about everything he has written in both magazines and books and if you have even read just a couple of his works you know that unless Eddie climbs a serious mountain with life threatening events, goes to a war zone with dire circumstances, or disapears "into the wild", or even goes on a walkabout then I doubt Mr. Krakaeur would write about him.

Sitting with Eddie in Seattle or San Diego or even Chicago would not be as exciting as climbing the Eiger or Everest or going to Afghanistan, or going Alaska.

Good idea though and I for one wouldnt being wrong about this

I thought Into Thin Air was his best. I couldn't put that one down. Pat Tillman book is also good. I liked Into the Wild the least of the three but still liked it. I thought Penn did a great job adapting the story to the screen and of course, thought Ed did a superb job with the music.
It's nice to be nice to the nice.
