Flyers just traded ryan parent and a conditional pick for the rights to nashvilles Def dan hamhuis. Last time we traded with them it worked out alright. Good move go flyers!!

I assume a Carter trade is definitely going to happen due to the fact they need to free up money and sign Hamhuis

Last I heard was Carter to the LA Kings which would make sense they need a 2nd line Center and we need a young good goalie which they have in Quick

    Should be interesting this week

I don't see LA trading Quick but i could see them trade their other goalie named Johnathan Bernier who is going to be a very good goalie. he is 21 and won best goalie in the AHL in 2009-2010. i know most people won't agree with this but i could see carter going to LA for bernier and also a 2nd round pick. might seem that we gave up alot but we have to think that soon we will have to sign Claude and some other players in the next couple of years.

I'll be doing backflips if that trade goes down. I'd take Bernier or Quick for Carter straight up...a pick would be gravy.

Like the Hamhuis deal assuming they get him signed

The kings have 2 very good young goalies who are a great price. Quick makes what 1.8 mil a year which is great. the reason i say some people who wonder if we gave up too much would just be because we have a top scorer going to LA for a goalie who has just played 3 games in the NHL.

article I read this morning says it will be tough for the flyers to sign/trade for a goalie if they sign hamhuis for what he wants (apparently something starting at 4 years, 16 mill) and keep coburn (he's due a raise).

speculation is that they are gonna offer leighton backup goalie money.

I'll be pissed if they go into the season with leighton/bouch.

Article didn't mention a carter trade...still seems like that's the best way to bring a goalie in. Get it done Holmgren

the blue could be elite if they can keep both coburn and hamhuis. i'm find with keeping leighton as a back up, but an elite goal tender is a must have.

Holmgrem has done a nice job since he took over.

Leighton and Backlund book the Parade !!

I'd be shocked if he goes into the new season with not addressing the goaltending

In an October 2009 interview with the Daily News, Bob Clarke endorsed Lindros as a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

don't agree with you on the elite goalie comment. there is not that many elite goalies, what we need is a good goalie.

maybe elite is wishful thinking  i could settle for an above average, defined as, does not let in soft goals, makes the saves he should make, and steals a game here or there.

    Hmmm...

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Sharks are cutting ties with goaltender Evgeni Nabokov.

General manager Doug Wilson said Tuesday the team has told Nabokov he will not be offered a contract when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next month.

Nabokov has been one of the top goalies in the league the past few years, winning an NHL-best 131 games over the past three seasons. He has a 293-215-29 record in 10 seasons with the Sharks, with a 2.39 goals against average. He helped the Sharks reach the Western Conference final this year, where they were swept by Chicago.

Wilson says he would like to sign the team's other unrestricted free agents, including leading goal-scorer Patrick Marleau.

i'd take a couple years of Nabokov. but it would be tough to fit him under the cap.

You guys have the cap room for him? Not sure what his market price/term might be in his mid-30's, but it can't be that cheap.

The Hawks would be glad to give the Flyers Huet. Why not add a third Hawk goalie to the lineup.
