    Where I do not agree is the "different culture" phrase that gets tossed around...this has nothing to do with culture, this is pure and simple intolerance (I prefer evil) towards other cultures, believes...

    If people really believe this is cultural then it makes me wonder when those people will pull their "head out of the sand"... unless you have a mental illness in today's age, you know honour killing is WRONG.

    It is actually true that "honour killings" are a Muslim thing... We really can't deny that. Just remember GF: A LOT of Muslims are 100% opposed to it. Please please remember that.
    That said, despite some passages in the Quran that suggest it's wrong (and others that basically contradict that... it's a fucking holy text, and I think it's pointless to use that as a measure of anything, frankly. It's just a bunch of bullshit that contradicts itself, just like the Bible does, and adherence to it by Muslims is as subjective and inconsistent as it is for Christians of the Bible), it's not nearly as frowned upon in the Muslim world as ALL of us would like it to be. Here is an article from 2013 that includes an estimation of how Muslims feel on certain issues, including honour killing... rather disturbing actually (so are the results re Sharia Law). I don't think it serves anyone to pretend it's not a real problem just in order to be PC about it, because acknowledging a problem is the first step towards fixing the problem, which should be everyone's goal (start with women's rights in Muslim nations... everything after that will basically fall into place). BUT REMEMBER: these results are focused on Muslim nations (most of which are in some kind of turmoil). Not on Muslims in North America. They didn't even include North or South America in the results at all. That is an important point for folks like GF to keep in mind. Also notice that most disapprove of suicide bombers in particular (phew).

    So your comparing a bunch of crazy Christians in their beliefs who only make an ass of THEMSELVES with their silly protest to a religion or culture that produces crazies who kill in the name of their religion...big difference! Just wondering has the west borough baptist church ever been convicted of a serious criminal offence, or do they just typically make an ass of themselves in public. And if all they've done is make an ass out of themselves in public then I guess they are entitled to.

    People stumble over themselves to apologize for Islam whenever these mortifying events get presented by making vague references to Christianity- not allowing criticism of Islam stand alone.

    Christianity is full of faults, but Christians are nothing compared to the Islamic zealots in Muslim countries where these types of events are commonplace.
