I can't comprehend killing one of your children... wtf... Like somehow there is more "honor" in taking your child's life, then letting them be their own person.
I hope these two animals get gang raped in prison on a daily basis... what honor they'll have after that...My whole life

Meaning that cultures and practices vary from place to place. Something that are considered unacceptable here, maybe celebrated elsewhere and vice-versa. It's a very hard thing to separate because there's always a grey area in which one attempts to either push it's own ways on others.fife wrote:what does that mean? different cultures.CONservative governMENt
Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis0 -

Killing people for "honor" is not any type of cultural practice. It is barbaric thinking and I hope they do get what is coming to them once they are jailed. For the father and brother to ask about consequences before killing someone in their own family just shows how they knew what they were doing was wrong and definitely knew better. Now they are trying to hide behind "cultural differences"For every tool they lend us, a loss of independence0

he was quoting me from another topic and the two topics are very different so I'm not sure I understand his point.

Someone has to give up their culture when they move to America? Why that doesn't sound anything like the America I was raised to believe in.Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

I agree...
I am all for respecting "cultural differences", but if any culture says that it's better to kill your own child than to let them dress how they want or to go see a movie, then fuck that "culture" and anyone associated with it.My whole life

I was being sarcastic. There are a few folks who can dismiss anything they don't personally have a problem with as simply being part of nature, or just someone's "culture", however they seem so quick to judge when it's something they do have a problem with. I think these same people like to call others hypocrites. The world is fucked up, I agree.Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

in a way yes and in a way no. there has to be some integration into your society that you choose. that doesn't mean that if you moved to any other country you had to give up everything.0 -
