If there is no shows and you can get this organized i would def be down but i'm not flying to Seattle for a get together , So make it happen here in NY and i'm all over this ...
Let's wait and see what happens re possible shows. I don't mind organizing one party in Seattle and another one in NY. :P But as I said, let's see and keep fingers crossed that there'll be a show somewhere! We can always have the party AFTER the show.

I agree with MDM. Let's definitely do smthng in Seattle and then possibly NY as well. PJ if you are reading this please do consider!!! I'll try to do some research on this and see what kinda venue we could use.so excited!!
"If you knew me you wouldn't love me"- EV April 17, 1994 Paramount Theater, NYC
And it's my birthday!! Not that it matters, but, I just had to throw it in...
And I love helping to plan events, so I would be happy to do what I can from Ohio.
There's a bar just East of Cleveland called the Boneyard that used to be a movie theater, they kept the screen and show sports on it in HD. It would be cool to book the place for a party and have them show PJ video on it all night. Or even have one of the local bands play a show of PJ tunes.
"Money is no object," I said, "but I am on a budget."
Ok, so the Key holds about 17,000 people (for sporting events, or 5-9,000 for more 'intimate gatherings'). That could work. Previous threads tossed around ideas of The Gorge and Safeco. How about Seahawks Stadium? (Oh sorry gotta give corporate plugs...Quest Field). They had whatever big country person play there last year.
AIC is playing the Key OCTOBER 8th...with 'Special Guests' Mastodon, and Deftones, so I don't think they would open for PJ if there were an Anny show...if some other Seattilite wants to put something together, I will be more than willing to help!
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

Although I'm in Columbus, that place sounds fantastic! I know that even if all of our dreams were to come true and PJ were to play an anniversary show in Seattle, I would not be able to go all the way there. But it would be awesome if they did play a show and we could simulcast it to any of the 10club parties being held!
Metallica is doing something similar where they are simulcasting their June 22 show in Bulgaria to select movie theaters in the US.
I'd be totally down for this, as long as I have enough vacation time! Great idea, MDM!!
I'm completely down for this as well and want to help as much as I can. As I said, I am moving to Seattle next year and might go down there in October for job interviews so Oct. is perfect for this!!

I am scared to death of aero-planes..but if PJ was there..and it was a real show..I'd DRIVE all the way to Seattle from PA for it! :ugeek:

I've said it many times & i'll say it again. The week of the 20th anni live show should happen in Seattle, WA. From Monday October 18th - to Saturday October 23rd it would be a week that you'll never forget, like Philly '09. A show @ Easy Street. A show @ Key Arena. A show @ Showbox. A show @ The Paramount & a show @ The Key Arena. Plus each 10club member (only 10club paying member's) get to visit one time that week the 10club headquarters & warehouse. Also get to meet & greet the member's of Pearl Jam!
one show only ... fan club members ... one ticket each ... should be around seattle ...
Haha. I can only begin to imagine the bitchfest that would ensue if this scenario played out. The ones that got shut out would bitch, the ones that got tickets would bitch that they can't bring anyone. Local Seattle residents who got shut out would bitch that they are more deserving because they live there and have supported the band longer thus making them bigger fans.
I think if they are going to have a show it should be on the 22nd but have it at Qwest Field. 70,000 seats should be enough. I know there isn't enough fan club members to fill the seats so after all 10C tix are bought up, general public can sell out the rest. The only problem with that is I think Qwest Field is in the grasps of Ticket Master which would make 10C seats very limited.

I wouldn't bitch...if every 10C member got ONE ticket...we should all be so lucky...how many of us are there?
Anyone know..I know I've asked that question and been answered before but darned if I can remember.

Based on what I've read both on the 10C boards and elsewhere, it seems more likely that they will consider 2011 to be the 20th anniversary since that was when Ten was released. And the more I read, the more likely it seems that they won't be doing anything to celebrate 10/22/10.
So, I was thinking that it would still be cool if we could organize some regional parties to celebrate the event! Considering that most of them would probably take place in a bar or someone's home, it would be easy to cancel or downsize at the last minute if need be. And if they did play a show, I still think it would be cool if they could simulcast it for those who can't be there.
As others have mentioned, I think it would be fun to have a few beers with fellow PJ fanatics while watching live concert footage/listening to their music/talking about PJ/making new friends. And I definitely think T-shirts would be in order.
Why wait till October? We can do one then as well. Let's plan a party for the board in say a month? Do we really need a reason? NYC is about all I can do for now but there has to be a lot of people on this board who can get together for a few casual beverages to celebrate the summer. Who's in? Mike, Stone, Eddie, Jeff, Matt and Boom... if you're reading this, you guys are more than welcome.

Sounds like a great idea! I am always up for a drink on a summer evening!
Regardless of the timing or significance, I'd be more than happy to help organize as Columbus get-together, or to help plan a NYC one as best I can from Columbus. I am kind of jonesing to visit NYC again! I don't know if this is good or bad to admit, but I've organized Columbus get-togethers for a couple of other message boards that I'm part of.
Edited because my reading comprehension skills seem to be lacking this morning.

If there is no concerts I'll only go if there is a get-together in Massachusetts.
