i LEAVE the USA on the 12th of October! cant belive i will miss this! it sounds like a great idea!
If anyone want to organise a Europeon one, with me????, I can still be part of the party!!0 -
I definitely think that a party at the Off Ramp Cafe would fucking rad. I will definitely be in attendance. This is my dream scenario for 10/22/2010:
The band will announce that there will be an anniversary show on 10/22/2010 at the Key Arena (or fill in any better venue in Seatle that can fit 10,000 people), and everyone will buy their tickets for this momentous occasion. Everyone will assume that they are playing a big show, so no one will expect any shenanigans.
But on 10/21, there is a leak that PJ will play a secret show in Seattle at an undisclosed location. Of course, they would go under the guise of Maple Jar, so then unsuspecting people will be thrown off. Of course, us 10 clubbers will get the real scoop via e-mail (hopefully much more effective than the soundgarden/nudedragons e-mail system). Us 10 clubbers would go then purchase the tickets, which would probably sell out in 10 minutes or so.
Once we buy the tickets, we'd be e-mailed clues to the location, which would probably be where did Pearl Jam play their first show as Mookie Blaylock? Of course, we'll all know that it is Off Ramp Cafe, but that makes it all the more fun. The time of the show would then be revealed to be right at midnight, and plenty of die hard Pearl Jam fans of all kinds will be camping out at the Off Ramp Cafe.
Finally, the doors will open, and we'll all chill as we listen to the different vinyls and ask each other whether it will be Matt Cameron on drums or Dave Krusen for old time's sake. At the stroke of midnight, the room will darken, as we will hear the beginning riff to "Release" once the guys come out. They will put on an amazing show, as the band will rock out the small venue. Infact, since we're in lalaland, why not go all the way to assume that Chris Cornell will come out, and we'll see a couple Temple of the Dog songs (Say Hello to Heaven!) Once we're done, it will be hard to believe that they will put on another kick ass concert that night at the key.
That night, Mudhoney and Alice in Chains will open for Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam will then put on a kick ass show that made their 2009 shows look embarrassing. Throughout the show, several guests will come out, including Jerry Cantrell, Chris Cornell, Kris Novoselic, Mark Arm, and Matt Lukin (Pearl Jam will play Lukin with Matt Lukin on the bass!). The show will go on until atleast 2 a.m., and put the Philly boots to shame. Eddie will promise that they will never do another show like that again, but we know Pearl Jam will always continue to innovate and improve their shows every time!Member Number: 437xxx

Bugga.
I thought this was a legitimate cellebration thrown by PJ.
Can we get PJ to come preform at this Party? so other people in the world will spend thier life savings to participate?
Please? :ugeek:0 -
And it's my birthday!! Not that it matters, but, I just had to throw it in...
My birthday is only 3 days later! I agree that it would be awesome if 10clubbers from around the world planned 20th anniversary celebration parties all on that day. If a NYC one is a possibility, I would definitely try to make it to that one as I have a free place to stay there. And I love helping to plan events, so I would be happy to do what I can from Ohio.
In regards to thefin's excellent fantasy senario, isn't the Off Ramp Cafe closed? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.Columbus, OH 6/24/03

Let's wait and see what happens re possible shows. I don't mind organizing one party in Seattle and another one in NY. :P But as I said, let's see and keep fingers crossed that there'll be a show somewhere! We can always have the party AFTER the show.josevolution wrote:If there is no shows and you can get this organized i would def be down but i'm not flying to Seattle for a get together , So make it happen here in NY and i'm all over this ...0

Ok, so the Key holds about 17,000 people (for sporting events, or 5-9,000 for more 'intimate gatherings'). That could work. Previous threads tossed around ideas of The Gorge and Safeco. How about Seahawks Stadium? (Oh sorry gotta give corporate plugs...Quest Field). They had whatever big country person play there last year.
AIC is playing the Key OCTOBER 8th...with 'Special Guests' Mastodon, and Deftones, so I don't think they would open for PJ if there were an Anny show...if some other Seattilite wants to put something together, I will be more than willing to help! The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

There's a bar just East of Cleveland called the Boneyard that used to be a movie theater, they kept the screen and show sports on it in HD. It would be cool to book the place for a party and have them show PJ video on it all night. Or even have one of the local bands play a show of PJ tunes.
Although I'm in Columbus, that place sounds fantastic! I know that even if all of our dreams were to come true and PJ were to play an anniversary show in Seattle, I would not be able to go all the way there. But it would be awesome if they did play a show and we could simulcast it to any of the 10club parties being held!
Metallica is doing something similar where they are simulcasting their June 22 show in Bulgaria to select movie theaters in the US.Columbus, OH 6/24/03

I'm only willing to fly to Seattle if it is for a Pearl Jam concert...I'm not going to spend all that money flying out there just for a get-together.
If there is no concerts I'll only go if there is a get-together in Massachusetts.8/29/00, 7/3/03, 5/24/06,6/28/08 & 6/30/08, 10/9/09,10/28/09, 10/30/09 & 10/31/09, 5/15/10, 5/17/10, 5/18/10, 5/20/10 & 5/21/10, 10/23/10 & 10/24/10, 9/3/11, 9/4/11, 9/11/11, 9/12/11, 9/23/11, 9/22/12, 9/30/12, 7/16/13, 7/19/130 -
