    My older brother had a '70 R/T 440cid. Blew up the engine in Germany when stationed there with USAF back in '85 or '86.

    End of May he accepts delivery on a 2010 S/R/T.
    Now stationed as a civilian firefighter( actually he's the Fire Chief) in Guam

    I went for the practical well-equipped choice.

    Didn't wanna get a bare-bones entry-level luxury car.

    I've driven most '09 and '10 cars. I rent cars a LOT for work (1-2x/week) and have driven pretty much everything.

    One of the best cars IMO (and the experts agree) around $20k is a Nissan Altima 2.5S. For a little more, you can get a "SL" which is a feature-packed version of the same car.

    Also, for a little more, you can get the 3.5 which will give you a very nice V6. That 3.5 is a great engine. It only gets approx 4-5 miles per gallon less than the 2.5 4 cylinder version.
    The price of the 3.5 is a bit more, but if you want to increase the "fun level" on a good car...you should consider it.
    I'm in the car market, and the 3.5 my be the car I get.

    Also, the brand new Mazda 6 is pretty good, but I like the Altima better.

    Hope you bought a used 08 or 09. With the vehicle reports and used car databases we have today, it is silly to buy a brand new car. Worst investment ever. You lose at least 20% value the second you sign the papers. Your more likely to get a lemon right off the "new car" lot.

    yes you take the deperation hit, but you also get the full value of the warrenty and you know exactly how the car has been treated from day one.

    Yeah, I'm also a neat/clean freak. I don't like the idea that someone or other people drove my car before me.
    Certainly from a financial standpoint, a car that is 1-2 years old makes the most sense...but from a mental standpoint...new is the way to go.


    I mentioned before that I drive a lot of rentals... talk about NASTY!!!!!! I've seen some sick shit before.
    Thank god, I'm far enough up on the rental company's "preferred" status that I get new-er cars (less than 5k miles usually). Some of them that have 20k+ :shock: SICK!
