Ok I will vote.0

I'm pretty sure from the beginning that it wasn't going to be a group focused rock band like the Beatles or Greenday. The AC/DC one was just a song pack sold separately at walmart with 18 live tracks. I see them doing that and selling it at Target. The AC/DC one was announced about the same time of year 2 years ago and was released around a month before Rock Band 2 came out.0
-
Maybe it's on delay because of RB3?"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0
-

With Rock Band 3 supporting keyboards perhaps we'll get some ivory love for our favorite band!0
-
I was thinking (hoping) that the delay was so they could incorporate the new features of RB3 into the game or track pack. e.g., keys, vocal harmonics, etc.0

The reason we could only buy the AC/DC add-on at Wal-Mart was because they have an exclusive deal with them for ALL merchandise. Pearl Jam does not have the same type of restrictions with Target, hence why we could download Backspacer straight from our consoles.
Standalone game or add-on, I could care less as long as something happens. Who really cares about the avatars and unlockable pics and vids and whatnot. I would actually prefer a standalone game because that way it would be cheaper to export the songs into other RB titles. Rent the game, use the code on the manual, and if it’s already been used find someone online who will sell you one for a few bucks. Cheaper than an add-on that I can’t imagine would be less than $30.0 -
Nothing at E3?
So I guess.. this is sort of dead...or in coma..."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

Don't read too much into E3. PJ isn't that big of a name and they have more "important" things to announce.0

So found out today, Game is actually been made but will never see the light of day. I was told the actual game is pretty awesome and instead of those characters singing and stuff its live footage of PJ. Only issue is the company feels it will lose a lot of money on it so I was told it will never be released. It is also based on RB2 technology so now its even more of a reason it wouldnt be released. I told the person who works for that company that they would make money on it but he said that it cost way too much money to make that specific game. He was 95% sure it would never get released. From what he told me about the game (he has seen it) that is really good and very well made so I am still holding on to some hope that it gets released.Bob0

If they went to the trouble of charting all the songs we can almost be sure that we'll see it as downloadable content at the very least.
If it's 'done' then they could at least recoup some of the cost.0 -
yes!! it should definitely come out as downloadable content...they can't lose $ on that!! I could care less about it being it's own game!
lord knows i need some new PJ RB songs to rock the fuck out on!!!

If the project is dead, then why is this thread still stickied?.. I would think, at least, it will be a PJ song pack???? (e.g. AC/DC release)0 -
Man, hearing this has live PJ footage makes me only want it that much more. They've got to release this and why wouldn't they if most of the work is done?0
-
yeah i hear you all, The game is actually completely done. The person i know was explaining to me how they projected they would lose money on it compared to like green day and said they overshot the budget by almost a million. Hence if they were to ever release they felt they would take an even bigger hit and lose more money on it (He kind of lost me on explaining the whole money thing but i did hear something about a million in there)Bob0

This makes absolutely no sense. If it's done you put it out to recoup cost, even if you are going to be in the red. You don't let a finish product just sit and not try to get something out of it. Again, you are being told a tall one. There is no way this cost a million to do either. No way.0 -
Again not sure of the whole money thing, he was throwing out a bunch of numbers to show how much they would lose so i couldn't really keep up with it. But this person is very reliable and works for the company (MTV/Activision) and he knows what hes talking about. He said it was due out already and now that RB# technology is out i highly doubt they will release it on the old technology. Hopefully they will do downloadable content he didnt mention that.Bob0

RockBand is not made by Activision.
That's Guitar Hero and the Pearl Jam game was specifically RockBand.0 -
Ha sorry i kept making that mistake with him as well. He is on the MTV side of things but yeah i guess its harmonix.Bob0
