    I train military personnel on how to spot and avoid IED attacks. Right now, there are about 24-25 IED and roadside bomb incidents every day in Afghan.

    Once detonated, the needles become like other shrapnel. But they are really designed to stick in the fingers and hands of EOD (bomb disposal) techs as they sift thru the sand to uncover and disarm these bombs. They are actually laying face down on them when they do this.

    Some other tactics the Taliban are currently employing:

    -breast implant bombs for women. (PETN: the chem that was used by Xmas bomber) The doctors performing these were trained at UK med school, and have returned to their home countries to perform these surgeries.
    This is to avoid the new body scanners that show off your junk to the TSA. Undetectable.

    -"Suppository bomb" inserted into the ass of the bomber. No shit. look it up.

    -killing children and placing the bomb in their sewn up carcass b/c they know American troops will stop to investigate a child's body.

    Iraq actually DID have chemical weapons ... Back in the 80s.

    OK, but we're not really going to get into the whole: The reason for the war was completly bogus, and found to be so though right?

    Because it would seem kind of silly to debate something like that, given that the whole premise for the invasion was based on lies. I mean hindsite is 20/20, so we know now that it was crap - it could be argued that most knew at the time - but once those war drums start beating on that side of the water, only blood will appease the beast.

    No, I am stanchly against the war in Iraq. Its just that some people seem to assume that the whole WMD thing was entirely made up, when in fact the "spin" was based on history. Still spin, and still lies, granted.
