Ankara, Turkey -Ignoring the pleas of his 14-year old daughter to spare her life, Mehmet Halitogullari pulled on a wire wrapped around her neck and strangled her - supposedly to restore the family's honor after she was kidnapped and raped... "I decided to kill her because our honor was dirtied," the newspaper Sabah quoted the father as saying. "I didn't listen to her pleas, I wrapped the wire around her neck and pulled at it until she died" (The Associated Press).

It's gotta sound better than that. "Pro-choice", that's better.
I'm looking for someone on this site who is as ANTI-honor killing, as they are anti-semitic.

True. There is a difference between Pro-Choice and Pro-Abortion.
Pro-Abortion means you are for the medical procedure to terminate a pregnancy.
Pro-Choice is a belief that it is not up to the state to decide about unwanted pregnancy, it is up to the individual. Choice being, carrying the pregnancy to term and raising the child, adopting out the child or terminating the pregnancy. Most Pro-Choice people hope for the acceptance or adoption path and abortion as the last resort... but, understand that the choice should ultimately be left to the woman... not us... not our government... not our church.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! But in regards to these atrocities/ killings of women: If Islam is a religion of peace, why don't the leaders of Islam condemn these atrocities. It seems that we don't hear a word. Similar to 9/11- I saw videos of Muslims celebrating in other countries- cheering the innocent's murders.
What kind of religion cheers at the news of murdered women and children?

That one case wasn't posted on this particular message board isn't that weird, since a lot of shit happens around the world that we don't specifically debate every case of.

PS: Honor killings are horrible, and it's sad that there are people around that feel it is demanded of them to do such atrocities.
PPS: "Honor killings" in western countries are usually called "family tragedies". Main difference the murderer often killing himself as well....

The only thing to take away from it is that the left uses rationalization to communicate about these topics and the right uses emotion, territorial dominance, and other mid-brain functions that don't require the use of the brain's frontal lobe.
