What a show... that's what I've been repeating in my head since Friday night. Had great seats thanks to the 10c, row K (about 10 rows back) on the floor center section. It was my first trip to the Garden and needless to say it was a very memorable one. I still can't believe how hard that place was rockin', I swear the floor was shaking a few times. It was cool seeing some celebs in the VIP section rocking out, saw Michael Moore, Matt Damon, and John McEnroe. I can't wait for this bootleg!0

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THE MUSIC FROM SELF POLLUTION RADIO???????? the immortality version on that is the best ive ever heard.
It was a hell of a show, but i don't think it was good as Philly-4, and certainly not Philly-3. The Spectrum has/had better acoustics.0 -

it definitely could be the fact that im 3 days removed from msg, but the set list was amazing, and the crowd was unbelievable. i thought philly 4 was sort of a send off party. there was some kind of lineage with the music, crowd and band on friday. cant explain it. i think i need to take some sick daysDoesnt fucking matter anyway0 -
" If I knew where it was, I would take you there "
Well Eddie found it on Friday night, I would say 2nd encore, from wasted repries on, it was the most surreal experience of my life, Its like the world did not exist for those 5-6 songs, the energy, emotion was like no other"no more crowbars to my head"0 -
I FINALLY FOUND THE WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS
So it's 4 days later and I am sitting at the pool in Vegas and a book lent to me by the great CDP has the perfect description..
From Paul Feig's Superstud... (Great BTW)
"There was something about the all-encompassing power and volume of the music and otherworldliness of the flashing lights and being surrounded by people who were talented and creative and not the kind of people who were mean to you or wanted to beat you up that all combined to make one of those magical moments that sometimes occur in your life-where you feel transported out of your body, away from all your earthy cares; in which you see the world in a different light, as a collection of people and energy, and you suddenly love it all and want to experience it all."
Glad I could share it with all of you and my kid...Post edited by Black Diamond on0 -

You're in Vegas - after that romp of shows? You really are a bastard. I hope I can assure myself half of the gallivanting you do when I'm done with this school shit.0 -

I don't post often but like so many I feel the need to share my thoughts. Last week was amazing as I attended 4 shows (Hartford, Newark, MSG1 & MSG2). They were all great for various reasons but MSG2 just took it to another level. I think so many elements came together a Friday night show in NYC at the "Worlds most famous arena" with the most amazing crowd I have ever been a part of. I believe PJ fed off the energy that we all brought and as they kicked it up notch we did as well. They gave us a great mix of songs from from the rarities that so many of us hope we get at shows like Push me Pull me, Black Red Yellow. They also gave plenty for the average fan to be excited about opening with Corduroy and blasting through some great versions of Evolution, Not for You, Present Tense and Why Go all in the main set. When they played Breath in the main set I new we were in for a special show. Lukin II was amazing a complete shock, this is why I try and make as many shows as possible. I heard 3 different versions of this song at last weeks show from the normal punk version to one with the string quartet and now a beautiful slow acoustic version that left me in awe. Given to Fly, STBC and Rearviewmirror to close out the fist encore was truly amazing to witness. The crowd was ready to explode at that point and it finally happened during Betterman. To hear the crowd sing that loud but more importantly cheer for what had to be a minute after the first verse was the best thank you we could have given them. It was one of those special moments that I will never forget. It just continued with a great version of Black but when I thought I have seen it all in my 30+ PJ shows they played Hunger Strike. I actually heard them play this once before in 2003 at Holmdel, NJ but like so many songs this night they just seemed to be played better then they ever have that night. Closing the show with Yellow ledbetter always seems to be the best way to close out a PJ show and this was so fitting to end a great night and a great 4 shows for me. After attending the Spectrum shows I can't believe this band could still leave me leaving a show in amazement but they some how still do. We are so lucky to have this band giving us everything they have everytime they take the stage.0

2008 Bonnaroo - 2009 Philly 2&3 - 2010 MSG 1&20 -
5/21 was an emotional show. I felt a something like a trance come over me as the crowd and the band were just feeding each other. My friend, and future Principle, felt the same way. Just amazing. My girlfriend, who isn't a huge fan of PJ, said that this show was like nothing she ever experienced before. It was a beautiful thing. Thanks to the fans, and the greatest band in the world."Don't let the darkness eat you up..."

Been reading these posts for the past few days and its great to hear so many different
takes on one thing we pretty much agree on......PEARL JAM IS ONE FRIGGIN AMAZING BAND!
From start to finish it was perfect.I took my 20 year old daughter to her first PJ show and I
must say I think she gets it why me and a few of my friends try to see these guys as many times as our wallets allow.I took my 15 year old to Philly 4 and it was a very emotional night saying goodbye to that relic of a venue.
Growing up in Central Jersey I pretty much always went to NYC all the time,But we never passed an opportunity
to head to Philly for a show... I kind of lost my train of thought and I am just trying to say how great it was to rock out for 2 !/2 hours with my daughter next to me having a good ole time I dont view her Facebook page but I
am sure there are some unflattering pics of her old mans head a bobbing and arms a flailing
I never complain after any shows because I really dont give a rats ass what they play. Its their
band! MSG2 was my 28th and every time I have heard at least 1 song for the first time....
These guys bring it every time.Friday was the about the best crowd I have ever seen.
We were on the floor in the front of sect 5 and It was amazing looking around the garden seeing everyone on their feet singing, clapping, rocking.......Priceless
After The 4 Incredible Spectrum Shows and The Garden 2 I really am trying to Justify an
Atlantic Crossing this summer. The Biggest Problem is I have 2 Daughters and can only get 2 Ten Club
Tickets For each show! Thanks Pearl Jam and Thanks To all my fellow JamHeads out there!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
First off - been a fan of the band since '92 - passing the cassette back and forth to my buddy on the beach at Cape Cod for 2 weeks that summer. For one reason or another (at times a kid w/no car, hottest band on the planet, war with ticketmaster, shunning fame, being an idiot and not joining the 10c, etc) I was never able to see them until 2000 when I finally signed up for the 10c. Seen them 4 more times since then and never thought that show @ SPAC could be topped for me personally. 8+ years is a long time to wait to finally experience a band that forever changed the way you listened to music back when you were 16 years old.
As for Friday, having never been to the Garden, just knowing the history of acts to play there is enough to know that any band worth a damn is going to give EVERYTHING on that stage. I knew Pearl Jam wouldn't disappoint. The layout of the building, the energy of the crowd and the band made 19,000+ seem intimate. I can't say anything here about the setlist and performances that haven't already been said. What I can say is that the experience made me write an account of the night to that friend I shared Ten with many summers ago. He simply said "Talk about passion. It sure poured out in your writing. Good stuff. I wished I was there, but now I am ready to pay to go fly and see the next show." I think that pretty well summed it up. I almost don't want to see them again... how can that pent up first verse of Betterman when Ed FINALLY turn the mic over to the crowd, all the emotion, the shared respect between fan and band be topped? Its a place that I don't want to leave.
Thanks to the 10c for nice seats on the floor, the band and the fans for an amazing 1st experience in MSG. It only took 10 years of keeping up the membership to feel the energy on floor!0 -
