SENROCK wrote:Its been quite a while since I've written a review about a show. Everyone that knows me KNOWS that i am not the type to go to shows to compare or complain or even brag. However.......I've been to some of the best shows including Philly last year. Everyone hyped them up and said Philly would be the best of all time. While I am not a big fan of the city itself, the shows were GREAT. I always tell people that Boston shows are the ones you NEVER want to miss. The Newark SETLIST (not the crowd)was AMAZING!!! I got my Immortality that I requested!!!
Hartford was unbelievable. I felt like I was home during the show because there was so much energy and comfort and FUN going on. Plus, Pearl Jam shows are the only place you feel normal for speaking in lyrics or being hyper over music!!!
Now MSG.........WOOOOOOOOOO!!! THAT PLACE is where the boys should ALWAYS only play. Keep in mind that I am from California so this is not an east coast pride thing. Somehow all the east coast always thinks they are better-Boston is better than New York, New York is better than everywhere else and on and on. The thing is? EVERYONE came from different states, countries, coasts, to make up the MSG crowd. That place, that crowd, that ENERGY is the best I have ever seen!!! I dont EVER complain about crowds cuz who the eff cares! But when ure at Newark and the ENTIRE section is sitting, its noticeable! MSG, EVERYONE was up on their feet! The people nexxxt to me were standing and jumping and fist pumping (not like champs)and when they sat out a song or two, they were still singing!!! People at MSG were effin EXXXCITED!!!! I heard some of the "locals" say the crowd wasnt that good. Thats SNOBVILLE speak!!!! I took time to look around and view the crowd because its as if everyone was in love with the band. I stopped to get video footage on friday night because i effin LOVED that everyone was dancing, jumping, singing at the top of their lungs. MSG definitely knows how to party. I feel very fortunate to have been a part of these shows and I will ALWAYS see a show there. Great crowd great energy great performance by the boys. The crowd participation for Betterman was INSANE. THAT is the way to do shows baby! The only thing that pissed me off beyond belief was that there was no EVENFLOW friday night. ON FLOWIN FRIDAY!!!!! WTF!!!!!!
Thanks to EVERYONE that was there for making up the best crowd ever during my first MSG exxxperience. Vinn, you were missed for sure! Sweet Slu....i LOVE you and LOVE being EXXXCITED with you!!!! Thanks ten club for not letting me win the lottery because our seats were FANTASTIC and allowed us to make the show even more special by sharing seats with family. Another time another place. And the east coast exxxperience would be like plain and bland dumpy pea soup without "Spicy Special Sauce" that makes EVERYTHING fabulous!!!Thank You!

Black Diamond wrote:I FINALLY FOUND THE WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS
So it's 4 days later and I am sitting at the pool in Vegas and a book lent to me by the great CDP has the perfect description..
From Paul Feig's Superstud... (Great BTW)
"There was something about the all-encompassing power and volume of the music and otherworldliness of the flashing lights and being surrounded by people who were talented and creative and not the kind of people who were mean to you or wanted to beat you up that all combined to make one of those magical moments that sometimes occur in your life-where you feel transported out of your body, away from all your earthy cares; in which you see the world in a different light, as a collection of people and energy, and you suddenly love it all and want to experience it all."
Glad I could share it with all of you and my kid...0 -
it is now wed... almost one week ago and im still godsmacked by this showit's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...0

my thoughts exactlyi post on the board of a band that doesn't exsist anymore .......i need my head examined.......0 -
I have nothing to add to the fanviews. It’s all been said. The set, the crowd, the atmosphere…unreal. I've been hoping for Tremor Christ forever, and didn't get it at either show....but...getting Push Me Pull Me made up for it a million times over. I love that song and never dreamed I'd hear it live. Slukin ruled.
Thanks to everyone who was there for their part in making this show the best I’ve ever seen. That’s saying a LOT. The band was on top of their game and gave it their all. The fans were everything I had hoped. Seeing friends I’ve made on previous tours, from all over the continent, was as great as I knew it would be.
The city was amazing. Don’t know where the rude NY’er rap comes from, everyone I met was beyond friendly. It was just a perfect trip altogether….without Pearl Jam it never would have happened, and I’d never have met any of the great people I keep meeting thru our common love for PJ’s music.
THANK YOU!0 -

4 for sure ...jesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -
If they stuck with an end stage seating chart and didn't sell behind the stage they could probably sell out 4 with no trouble at all. I would go as far to say 5 if it was on a holiday weekend. Like a Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat, Monhttp://twitter.com/DarthSpacegrass

most amazing show!! band, crowd, venue....amazingly absurd!! i went to hartford, boston, msg1 and msg2 and left every nite wondering how it could get better, yet somehow it did!! i hit 6 shows on the west coast last year, and though those were all solid performances, all 4 in the northeast were where it was at!!!.....my only regret is my dumb ass losing my camera drunk in a taxi after msg1, with 3 shows of pearl jam pictures as well as my whole east coast trip i traveled a great distance and spent a ton of cash doing. i even had a great photo of eddie in hartford making direct eye contact with my camera while pointing into it, awesome...so basically this a pitch to get msg2 or something of this tour on dvd to go along with the bootlegs, since i don't have my pics.....done!0

I knew MSG would be a special place to see PJ, but I was blown away, never imagined the intensity between band and audience could be that out of control.0

I am so freakin lucky to have seen so many epic PJ shows through the years, but this one rocked my face off. It was if the band was just relentlessly playing their asses off on every song, nonstop. They left nothing on that stage. All has been said, but the crowd singing Better Man without Eddie was incredibly powerful. I've been to shows where Eddie stops singing or lets the crowd take over (a few times on Elderly Woman), but this time it was almost as if the crowd was so loud that Eddie was awed and taking it in - like he didn't even plan to do it, but the crowd was so energetic he felt he had to step back.
And the Given to Fly, Spin the Black Circle, Rearviewmirror combo ending Encore 1 was the single best three song ending to a set I have or will ever see.0 -
