It's not looking too good. I hope I can look back at this post in two months and realize I was worried about nothing.

Oh yeah, and fuck the Twins. The only time anyone up there pays attention to any of their teams is when they are doing good. Not like us idiots that support our losing teams no matter what. Bears suck and still sells out. Cubs.......everyone knows about them already.
Still early, but they need to start playing better. I don't care if Toronto is good. Sox should be better. No excuses!

Good to See The new catcher hit a homer but what happened to the touted Tyler Flowers? I thought he was the future?

Lucy has been in the organization for a while now. I think he's got solid back-up potential.

Flowers has been tearing it up in AAA. He's only 24, so he's got plenty of time.
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.

ya just looked it up- he is hitting a hefty .346 in AAA Charlotte. Then again, Brent Lillibridge is hitting .345 and we know what kind of a bum he is.

As much as I love AJ and as good as he has been during his time here, I think Flowers will be our starting catcher next year.

I agree with you about AJ- his time is running out as a catcher and has little use as a DH because of the lack of power.

I actually see him becoming a coach or manager one day- hopefully for the sox.

yes, the offense has lacked consistency so far...im happy about the pen tho...santos putz and linebrink stuck out all 3 batters they each faced last night...not bad at all.

That was the problem last year. An offense lacking consistency. Either everyone was hitting or nobody was hitting from one day to the next. Wait.......is that consistent offense? Then I mean consistent hitting.

Pierre NEEDS to start getting on-base. That's were this offense gets its start. When your leadoff guy is batting under .200 with an OBP under .300, you're not going to have as many opportunities to drive in runs. We can't rely on power this year, absolutely cannot.

I dont thin power has been an issue bc it seems that most of our runs have come via the long ball. But, I agree with your pierre point. sure, he doesnt strike out a lot, but he doesn't. I don't think he has taken a 3-1 pitch yet.

You're right, there hasn't been a lack of power so far. But that's also the problem, that all our runs have come via homers. I just don't see us having sustained season-long success relying on the long ball, like we did in 08 until CQ went down and the offense went into a tailspin.

Pierre needs to get on-base. Alexi needs to take a pitch every now and then. Kotsay can return to spring training form any time now. Just get the team OBP up and grind out some runs. The pitching will settle down and we'll be all right.

5 games back already.. they need to change something, or fire somebody. Their pitching is too good for this. Juan Pierre needs his ass whooped. What a useless lead off man he's become.

    Pierre will be fine....

He is not the problem....At least not in my eyes...

    The problem??? Your manager...

Mr. Ozzie needs to quit worrying about twitter, facebook, the little reality show that this team is involved with....etc. etc.

Seems to me Ozzie has kind of LOST this team.....Yes, its early, and yes, you guys could/should still win that division, with that starting pitching you have....

But Mr. Ozzie needs to get back to the basics.
