They were people either infiltrating the protesters to make them look bad, or it never happened.

How can you possibly know this?

In other words, tea partiers never do or say anything racist or bigoted and, if they do, it's an infiltrator.

    OK, I'll play...

i think he was implying he doesn't necessarily trust their word that it happened because they have criminal records
you don't need to speak for speedy. what was the point of your post speedy? i am asking because i must have missed something and i want to understand where you were coming from with that. i did not imply you were being a bigot but i did not understand where you were coming from with that link. sorry if i offended you.

so pepe are you saying they would really make it up??? with witnesses including journalists?? one of them was spat upon...like he would really spit on himself...

no, i'm not saying that at all, that's just how i took speedy's intentions. i didn't take him as saying it was ok but rather why should we believe them?

    yoke said:
Also, just to play devils advocate here, did anyone actually catch this on video? I am only asking because I have looked at some vids and did not hear one N-word or see the spitting, but then again it it was a big crowd and the person or persons that said it could have been out of camera range.

to which aerial quoted it saying:
I agree with you I question if it even happened.......

    which caused you to say:
to yoke and aerial...do you really think that these congress people would make up these accusations?

and speedy replied after you saying:
    congress people??

    These congress people???

    http://www.wwco.com/~dda/criminals.php

which leads me to think speedy was questioning their honesty about the claims since they were 'criminals' and not saying since they are 'criminals' it's ok to call them these things and spit at them

what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

i don't need video to prove anything because i know that these bumpkins that are acting like this are in fact racists and bigots....what other words can be used to describe them?
You are closed minded and know NOTHING concerning the Truth about the Tea Party.
Who ever spat or called the names had nothing to do with the Tea Party...or has this been proven?
They were people either infiltrating the protesters to make them look bad, or it never happened.
Yes Congress will LIE....anyone in congress will Reb. or Dem both!
it has been proven...the tea party apoligized for it and condemned it. or did you not read my links again? or did you not watch norm's video of how the tea partiers treated the man with parkinson's??
I told you they are LIERS! and here is Proof!
    There was NO RACIAL SLURS!!!!!!!http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/watercooler/2010/mar/20/congressman-claims-health-care-bill-protesters-hur/

The fact that they counted a specific number (15 slurs) made me immediately question it even happened.....

I still haven't heard anything other than Kill the Bill or similiar remarks. I am not saying that this didn't happen and I certainly don't condone it if it did, however I find it hard to believe that not one person caught these alleged insults on tape. In the era of cell phone cameras, flip videos, TV cameras and not to mention I saw one member with John Lewis with what looked like two cameras in his hands and still nobody caught any of it.

All we have to go on is what these politicians and it says in the first article "CNN’s Capitol Hill reporter Dana Bash reports today of personally witnessing epithets being used towards John Lewis (D-GA) and Barney Frank (D-MA) by protesters that had been identified earlier as “Tea Party people" But if you watch the first video on that link she did not personally witness this. So again. don't know what to believe.

So did this really happen at all?

    http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2010/03/20/us/politics/AP-US-Health-Care-Overhaul-Cleaver.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A congressman who was spat on by a protestor on Capitol Hill says he is declining to press charges, but turns out the Capitol Police say they made no arrests.

Missouri Democrat Emanuel Cleaver was making his way through a group of angry protestors when the incident occurred. It was one of several ugly incidents in a day of protests against President Barack Obama's health care overhaul measure, which faces a House vote on Sunday.

Cleaver, who is black, was also one of several lawmakers who faced racial epithets as they walked to the Capitol to vote. Sgt. Kimberly Schneider of the U.S. Capitol Police said in an e-mail later: ''We did not make any arrests today.''

Mr. Obama has promised to secure no abortions in this healthcare bill with an Executive Order from him. [size130]This will not hold up in court and Executive Orders can not supercede legislation.[/size]

am i the only person who thinks it is weird that the party who doesn't want the government in health care is the same party who doesn't want abortions to be legal.

also, to say that no tea party person said those words because there is no proof doesn't mean that it was said but it does mean that the proof is inconclusive. and like in every thing that is inconclusive we have to withhold judgment on both sides. we can't prove it happen and we can't prove it didn't happen.

no you are not the only one. they are against abortion yet pro death penalty. they are all about keeping the government out of your bedroom but are anti gay marriage. they are against government interference in your famiy's health care decisions, yet they got involved in the terri schiavo case to keep a woman in a persistent vegetative state on life support when it had long been established she did not want to live like that. and they are pro war yet against health care for all americans...to me there are too many contradictions for them to try to reconcile, which makes them full of shit in my eyes...

i think the legendary george carlin said it best when he said "doesn't it strike you as mildly ironic that most of the people who are against abortion are people you would not want to (have sex with) in the first place?"

Which group on the left has spat on Congressional Representatives, called them racial or homophobic epithets, or called for the their assassination and of their families?

I am seriously sick of people making false equivalences between the left and the right as if they're guilty of the same exact thing.
