I don't think that many people are arbitrarily upset that their town didn't get picked. What a lot of us are pissed about is that the same towns within 3 hours of each other continually get picked. I'm absolutely willing to travel and have for my last 4 shows. But it'd be nice if there was more regional variation in the tour shows. No one is expecting a 4-night stop in Omaha. But maybe instead of 2 in Chicago, they play one in Chicago and one somewhere else in the Midwest. Or instead of 4 in Philly, they spread out the shows throughout the eastern seaboard. Its these 3 night stands in one big city that everyone on the east coast is already within driving distance that suck.

I guess I'm just so sick of having this conversation over...and over...and over again. Everything you say makes sense, but two things you've failed to consider are 1) the costs the band incurs city to city (which is why multi-night stops in the same city are preferred and important to mix in to rest the crew and suppress costs) and 2) the larger the city/metro area is, the larger the demand of PJ fans. Wherever the T-Wolves play is by and large the same size as MSG (give or take)...but MSG is in a city/surrounding area that is in less than 7000sq miles has 18.8 million people while the entire state of MN and its 87,000sq miles has 5.2 million heads. Does it suck you get snubbed tour after tour? Yes, yes it does. But there are very clear reasons why certain places RARELY get snubbed and I just don't understand how any of this surprises anyone anymore. I'm fortunate to live in a city that is seemingly never snubbed, and that's exactly why I live here. Luckily shows like Hartford and Philly are under 2hr trips for me and still pretty easy to get to, which is another immeasurable benefit to living where I do since in most of the rest of this country that isn't possible.

In closing, Go Vikings (I'm actually a Viking fan and have to settle for their visits to the Meadowlands to see them, so you're one upping me there buddy)

the problem with that argument is that most other bands tours all over and it doesnt bankrupt them. so why is it more expensive for Pearl Jam? either they just dont like touring anymore (likely) or they're just being greedy.

I'm definitely not saying NYC or Boston or Philly shouldn't get picked, but why 4 nights in a row? Or why 4 nights in a row on one tour and then less than 1 year, yet again 3 shows within 3 hours of Philly? I get the demographics and logistics of it all, but as has been said, other bands routinely hit more than 1 region, and I'd like to think PJ, the last great American rock band, can do it too, with ease. I refuse to believe its cost that's driving this; if so, then I seriously need to rethink the admiration I give this band. After 20 successful years, I'd like to think they're doing fine and can shoulder the "cost" of putting on shows in more than one town. It isn't like they're doing it for free...

just signed up...as in today? you will not be able to buy tix through the 10c...you had to have been a member as of 3/10

yeah, it is a tiring argument these days. i live in texas so i know snubbing. the difference in them and every other band that play all over the country is that PJ has made it clear they will not be doing big tours but they will do these short runs that make them the most money in a short period of time and little travel. it sucks. i think i'm done traveling to see them too.

I really wish they would give us more time as far as 10 c tix sales. A few days notice is not enough time for some of us that actually have to work for a living and have bills to pay. I guees the only reason is so because they would have a flood of new memberships,but they could still have a cut off date as far as when you had to have been a 10c member by .

Anybody else feel this way ???? :(

I guess they need to get the 10C presale in before general sales. Maybe there is such a short span of time between the time when things are 100% finalised and announcements made, they have to do it like that? Just a thought.

Tir Na Nog is a great Irish pub on 8th ave,between 34 and 35 sts.7th ave also from 28 st to 34 sts have a ton of great pubs.Cheers.

I agree.I live in NYC.We do have it good with the best bands playing here alot.Im a huge fan of U2,DMB and PJ.This same argument I have with a friend in Ireland.U2 play more in NYC than Ireland.Why is that ??? There 2010 European tour is bypassing Ireland.It happens.PJ played 4 nights in L.A. I had to drive 100 miles to see them in Philly this past Oct.My thing is this.....why are they not touring more for this great cd???? They only played a few shows after the cd was released in Sept. I have seen the band many times since 1996.This is the first time Im buying tix with the 10 club.If you get seats..do you know what type of seats you have?? :roll:

I do know that the all-inclusive trip I won to see them in San Diego was, quite simply, a fucking amazing way to show me the band cares about its fans.

So, we gotta take the good with the bad. It could be worse - we could be over-saturated with shitty music from a band way past their prime...I'll leave it at that, since this is not a Rolling Stones message board. Whether you like the last two albums or not, they're not the same recycled music that other bands put out as "new." 9 studio albums, 9 different tones and attitudes...if that makes the new music shit, then I guess I'll keep buying their shit then.

By the way, I'm planning to drive a considerable distance for this "tour," too...they're not playing close to home again, but, like every other show, I know they're gonna earn my ticket cost yet again.

thank you for your honest thoughts...as an artist myself, i LOVE how their growth simply expresses who they are on their journey of life. like you said, not rehashing old music just to satisfy fans. i truly believe that they DO care about their fans, but trying to please thousands of people at different stages of their lives is a bit daunting. they need and have, stayed true to themselves and their families (professional and personal) and that is what i applaud. i love the old music and the new music and will love their future music. enjoy the concert that you go to, i saw them in sept, and am hoping to get to MA or NY for this one. the "backspacer" music is soooooooo tight....loved it in concert!!!! ENJOY!!!!
