what is the better compliment: cute or hot?

    cute is sort of a back-handed compliment, I think
    hot is alot more meaningful

    Personally, I would rather hear "cute". Cute to me is a combination of looks and personality.

    "Hot" means just looks in my opinion, not as much of a compliment...but that's just me :)

    No, I was referring to what I would want to hear of the two....

    If I thought a guy that I was interested in was good looking, and my only way of expressing that was with the words "hot" or "cute", I would pick "hot". I can't see to many men being complimented by the word cute. It works for girls, guys... not so much!

    No, I was referring to what I would want to hear of the two....

    If I thought a guy that I was interested in was good looking, and my only way of expressing that was with the words "hot" or "cute", I would pick "hot". I can't see to many men being complimented by the word cute. It works for girls, guys... not so much!

    This is exactly how i think when i'm refering to a woman.

    I'm always looking to meet a cute person, hot people are usually just nice to look at.

    Agreed. However, being told you're hot all the time and occasionally that you're cute, by the same person, is kinda nice :D

    Where does "pretty" fall into this debate?

    At my work we spend our lunch hour playing "cute, pretty, hot" with the ladies of the office. Lots of cutes and prettys, not so many hots. Sadly we don't work on the set of Mad Men. :lol:
