Tea baggers

Its all about awareness programs. There isn't anybody saying that this is going to be a legal or legislative issue. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as Mrs Obama gives good advice.
Hell, a year or two ago I saw a 2 year old eating ramen noodles and drinking pepsi. Some people are just retarded about nutrition.Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -

You kidding? In a country with major child obesity problems, you have a problem with the first lady trying to do something about it? You don't have to take her advice but I would think most would agree this is a positive project.
Man, its a no win with you. A little education about health and healthy eating is never a bad thing. And I would venture to guess that many in America are not as educated as you might think on what constitues a healthy meal.0 -
Okay she is doing a good thing. would it be a good idea to include in her healthy eating cause taking out the hormones and steroids they add to our food...and how to afford healthy food?“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.” Abraham Lincoln0

Sure, and educating people on how to eat healthy at a low cost should be a prioirty with the economy the way it is.0 -
aerial wrote:The Tea Party was never meant to divide the country it is trying to get everyone together no matter what political party you affiliate yourself with...that is why there are all political parties along with all religions and races that are included and are gladly accepted into the movement....I have never heard anyone in the Tea Party say they are the only Real Americans...were did you get that from? Wake up is for those that are not paying attention and rely solely on the elected officials to do the right thing...which we know is not always there agenda
I know this is a 'Liberal Media' (code word for JEW) poll... but, here goes:
http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2010/02/11 ... 9131.shtml
• Mostly consider themselves Republicans – not independents - and most view the Republican Party favorably (62 percent).
Americans who identify themselves as Tea Party members are mostly from the South (37 percent) or the West (29 percent), and are older (59 percent say they are over age 45, compared to 50 percent of Americans.)
Tea Party identifiers are overwhelmingly white – 95 percent are white, compared to 77 percent of Americans.
While Americans blame the Bush Administration for the deficit, Tea Partiers don't; they're more likely to point to the Obama administration (19 percent) or Congress (33 percent).Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

That's odd since they were so many giving her a standing applause after her speech she seemed to be given a grand welcome there.

But once they start getting ridiculed (fairly) for choosing that term they decide that they have the authority to declare it an insult and and demand everyone stop using it. Screw 'em, they brought it on themselves.
Kinda like how democrats became liberals, then progressives. Wonder why they keep changing their name.0 -

actually it is not like that at all...."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

Tea bagging for Jesus.
Seriously people, its a dumb term, no matter who made it up.

In all honesty, not justifying the sexual connotation or people making fun of the movement because of it, but the actual reference of calling these people "tea-baggers" is in the media and not solely on this board as some type of silly insult. Do an online search (I'd start with tea bag movement though). You'll see.rebornFixer wrote:Tea bagging for Jesus.

I know the term is widely used and not confined to this board. I also have no cogent, intellectual argument that supports my dislike of the term. It just sounds dumb ... Its a small step up from something like "fart knocker".0

Most everybody on this board has a hissy-fit when anyone may have any original thought in their head that doesn't fit the fray. I'm learning not to comment and therefore just come here to read the posts. It truly can be entertaining...most times. I just love Pearl Jam music. I will forever. It makes me happy. : ). I hear what you are saying... but, it is pretty difficult to argue with a sold out room full of proof:

Fine. I thought the conservatives who make up the majority of the Tea Party HATED politically correct terminology but I'll play along if it will make you happy. How about one of these for a nickname :
(1) Tetley Testes
(2) Cranial bean baggers
(3) Earl Grey Scrotumfaces
(4) Balls on Face Party0 -

For the record, I am neither a hardcore conservative nor particularly sympathetic to the goals of the teabagger movement.0 -

That is BRILLIANT.
For some reason number 4 makes me laugh out loud... maybe it is the imagery it invokes and its simplicity.
