Best Debut Album Of All Time Poll

  • For those voting, Do you really honestly believe Ten is the greatest album of all time? I'd say for the most part it's not even everyone's top Pearl Jam album. That 70% number is a sham. It's not top album...it's what band has the most obsessive fan base. Not to mention, the band has shunned MTV for years.

It is one of the greatest debut albums of all time and probably their best album (redux that is) but not a lot of the hard core fans like to admit that. Just look at the songs on that thing, and it still holds up today (redux that is). Besides the purpose of this is to crush the likes of Kayne West and Brittany Spears showing them who has the real fan base. (or the fans with the most time on their hands :eh: ) Nah, that's not it, PJ is one of the last bands standing that has that close knit communal relationship with their fans.

It's not about the greatest album of all time. It's about the greatest debut album of all time. This is only about bands that put out just absolutely stellar albums as their debut album as a band. And, undeniably, Pearl Jam did.

    And my vote goes to...

    Hmm lemme think...

    TEN!

Seriously though, I hesitated for a second about voting for Jimi... I mean, 1 per cent? Really? Although, no big surprise seeing how the vote seems to be split up between us hardcore PJ fans (the good) and 13-16 year olds who probably don't even know what a guitar is and vote for Kanye (the bad and the ugly). Of you wanna vtoe for a rapper, at least go with B.I.G....

Obviously Led Zep had a great debut album. It might be the best debut ever, but it is filled with blues covers, whereas Ten is all original songs.

Beatles: Please Please Me is just ok. I'm sure it was groundbreaking at the time, but it doesn't hold up too well now.

Pink Floyd: Piper at the Gates of Dawn is interesting and psychadelic and crazy, but I wouldn't consider it a great debut album, especially in light of what came from that band in the 70s.

Michael Jackson: What was his debut? Off the Wall? Yeah, it's pretty good, but definitely has its weak spots.

So yeah, that's why not every great artist should be in this poll.
