Saw just them the two nights in a row... they only have the one CD, yet, mixed up the order to make it seem like two completely different shows. And seeing Dave Grohl in his domain... behind the kit... is something I think every fan of Rock music needs to see at least once in their lifetime. The shows were absolutely, one of the best rock shows you will see today. They stretch the songs out with some of the best, on the fly, jam sessions you will ever see/hear. Fucking Rock in every sense of the word... the CD does not pay justice to the live show.
I suggest that if you ever get the chance... do yourself a favor and GO.

That's good because the cd didn't do much for me. I think expectations were too high

i like the album a lot but like previously said, it really doesn't compare to how good it is live. Again like previously said, the improv jams during songs, DAVE FUCKING GROHL beats the shit out of his kit and makes it look easy, their energy is nuts live. It really is one of the best live rock acts you could see today.

I went to see them last night and Dave Grohl is amazing. Defo agree that live it just works, I kind of felt I'd been invited to some jam session with 4 guys having a laugh and testing themselves but with intent. Dave Grohl stole the night for me, the guy seriously hammered it.

They are taken on my knackered camera, but are ok. I'll be getting a new camera for the Euro tour!

Make sure your camera has a better viewfinder. 40 pics of a TCV concert and not one of them with Jones in it.

I was there, I saw, I have the poster, the pics are only part of the memory...

After listening to this album 20+ times in the last few weeks I'd have to say it's one of my favorites of the year. I've always liked QOTSA, but this album sounds like a QOTSA album that is finally complete. All the pieces come together and pretty much every song on it I love. If you really listen to the lyrics you notice that there is a darkness that runs through the entire thing. The music matches the lyrics perfectly, amazing riffs and hooks, awesome drums, bass, just perfect all the way around.

PS- People comparing this album to a Foo Fighters album is like comparing a Hovercraft album to a Pearl Jam album. Just because a lead singer from one band is playing drums for another band doesn't mean that the two bands have anything in common, because they don't.

Saw TCV last night at Portsmouth Guildhall (UK) and they absolutely ROCKED!!!! :D

Songs like Elephants and Spinning in the Daffodils which sound great on CD went to another level live.

Being 100 feet away from Josh, Dave Grohl and JP f**king Jones was also something else - they were each in there own way totally amazing - and (like PJ at the moment) it was totally refreshing to see a group of very successful guys having so much fun from just making great music.

    ROCK AND ROLL!! :D

    £40?? I only paid £30...
Anyhow, they did around 90 minutes in Plymouth, mainly due to the extended solos and jamming...but nope I do not remember any covers (and I only had 2 pints). They mixed up the album tracks, and that was it. We were the first UK show though...

Not sure if anyone here is familiar with cKy but the opening of Gunman with the guitar riffs sounds a lot like them.
