  • Seeing them tonight. Is there an opening act? What time have they been coming on?

We had a strange strange band named Mini Mansions. Reception has been pretty poor from multiple shows. For the Seattle show, Door opened at 7, opener at 8 and then Vultures around 915
  • It's a cracker, loving it big time, it's certainly better than any Foo's album and a considerable improvement on Era Vulgaris.
Josh's vocals & guitar are fantastic, Dave drumming great and no complaints from me and JPJ's bass and keys skills are top drawer. Love Josh's Clapton like falsetto on Scumbag Blues, a very Cream flavour to this track.

This baby sounds awesome on vinyl, double 180 gram beauty and apparently not unlike The Dead Weather they are planning a follow up pretty sharpish.

    Bravo to the Vultures!

the first three Foo and QOTSA albums are better than TCV

Well I'm just now listening to this album and I really like it. I think I'm one of the few here but I don't think it sounds that much QOTSA. With Josh on vocals and guitar you had to expect a lot of similarities but I have seen a lot of people say it sounds like another QOTSA album. I don't think that at all. I'm lovin Mind Eraser, No Chaser, Scumbag Blues and Spinning in Daffodils.

I've been listening at work all morning. Can't really let it blare out here but I can't wait to get this puppy in my car!!

EDIT: Ok after another listen, I think this album has something QOTSA slbum's lack. TCV seems to have that live element there. It's not just your typical studio album.
  • The intro to "Elephants" really reminds me of "Wearing and Tearing" from Led Zeppelin's Coda. And "Scumbag Blues" is so reminiscent of Cream. This album is great. Gets better and better. Jones is great in the album. It is so great to hear him again. 3:15 to 4:15 in Bandoliers is amazing. You can hear the keyboards from Kashmir backing Dave's hammering. Reptiles is amazing. Gunman sort of reminds me of Evenflow in some strange way.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
  • "No One Loves Me and Neither Do I" has a break down at 2:43 that is absolutly badass. One of the heaviest riffs I've heard in a long time.

    Yeah, I know. It's great. Almost RATM-like.

    That RULES!!
The best use of Life is Love.
The best expression of Love is Time.
The best time to Love is Now.

I'm never as good as when you're there.........
  • There is a Q&A with Dave Grohl in the new Rolling Stone where he says "When JPJ passes you the jam ball you better not fucking fumble." Great interview.

the entire show grohl had one of two expressions on his face. either a shit-eating grin that made is obvious he was having a blast. the other being a "holy fuck. that's john paul jones over there."

You've all sold them well, will definately see them in Jan when they are here!
all you need is love, love is all you need
  • This Lp is fucking sick! Scumbag Blues is unreal. I had high expectations and I think they have been surpassed. Great heavy rock, full of melodies, funk, and beast instrumentals. Don't see how anyone could doubt this band.
  • "No One Loves Me and Neither Do I" is probably the heaviest song I've heard in a long time. Might be in my top ten of this turn of the century.

Your entitled to your opinion but I disagree, Foo's make great singles not unlike Queen but albums not really. Era Vulgaris is QOTSA weakest album by a mile.
  • What is QOTSA best albums?? Only have "songs for the deaf".
    I want more!!

    Recommendations please!!

I totally Agree that Era Vulgaris is the weakest Queens album but jesus man; Self Titled, Rated R and Songs for the Deaf are amazing albums. Lullabies is great too. Foo Fighters are not so good tho

Right now sitting in a car, heading from Hamburg to Berlin (3 hours drive) with two friends, going to see TCV tomorrow :) yeah! I am excited! Got a spare ticket, but I bet there will be no problem to find someone who needs it :D Just in case: if there is anybody from Berlin on here who wants to go and has no ticket (sold out since weeks), pm me!
