Hopefully someone new they haven't brought on tour before would be fly. My pick for emerging bands they should bring: Minus the Bear or Phoenix...

Social D was so freaking good, I hope they do it again...

Thats what I love about PJ shows.. They always give us someone worthwhile and someone emerging before they blow up on their own ala MMJ and Kings Of Leon, etc. and quality old school cats like Social D, Bad Religion, and the Buzzcocks..0

she'd get eaten alive by pj fans
Isn't Phoenix like, kiddie music? I saw em on SNL and I just didn't get it.
I'm going to say Them Crooked Vultures and move on.

Good one! I sort of got to see them open for PJ at Outside Lands....sort of. I think they were 2 bands before PJ. Silversun Pickups would be good too.0 -

The Whigs
Cage The Elephant
The Raconteurs
Biffy Clyro
or
Taylor Hawkins & the Coattail Riders0 -
Phoenix is great! They'd be great as an opener but I think they're too big/on the rise now. They sold out the Greek Theatre here in LA recently and were awesome. They're a great live band.
I'd pick:
Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears
The Black Keys
Band of Horses
Yim Yames
The National
Cage The Elephant

I second that emotion. Cold War Kids are an incredible live band.
I'd also like to see Wilco open for Pearl Jam, although if that happened, I would need to purchase binoculars since I would have died and gone to heaven.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -
