I'm telling you.....they're not touring next year. If you didn't see them on this tour, you can wait until 2012.
In 2012, I'd like to see Bob Mould.

1) John Butler Trio
2) Built to Spill
3) Ben Harper
Jack Johnson is still on my "unseen" list, he keeps playin huge festivals around Norcal that I skip, but he wouldn't be a good PJ opener ... but seeing Eddie, Jack and Ben do something would be neat!
Neat thread of music I need to check in on ... I liked Fiction Plane opening for The Police a few years back. Govt' Mule would give them a serious run for their jammin' money (and another to throw into an acoustic medley, Warren Haynes and Eddie jamming would be neat).
Slightly off topic, 2 themes I'd like to see PJ pick up on -- the "epic" Metallica/GnR shows, find a suitable band to coheadline with and play til 1 am! But I think this most recent tour showed the possibility for the Tom Petty route -- just rent out a small venue in a major city for 6-8 weeks and we'll all travel there to see 'em! Petty played 28 shows at the Filmore SF in '97.
With how awesome the LA and Philly shows went over -- I'd say they're onto something there. Rent out a small venue in Seattle, stay home with your families, and play a few dozen shows over a few months!

Fleet Foxes or Band Of Horses would be a decent choice. Others I'd liek to see:
Cold War Kids
I second that emotion. Cold War Kids are an incredible live band.
I'd also like to see Wilco open for Pearl Jam, although if that happened, I would need to purchase binoculars since I would have died and gone to heaven.
...but wilco is better than pearl jam and you never want the opening band to steal your show. then again, they did have mmj open up for them.

ever since I first heard them I wanted to see Arcade Fire open for PJ (duh, my username). I just think they're one of the only other bands making music right now that brings out the same level of passion in their fans, and bring the same amount of passion to their live performance. It would be epic, and I would see every show on the tour if it were to happen!
Other bands that would be good are yeah yeah yeahs, decemberists, or nada surf (that would be SO awesome)
dream the dreams of other men...you will be no one's rival
Don't care who Opens but when and where in 2010 will they play.. I sort of missed them during their west coast tour.. I thought they'd play a few Bay area dates in addition to that festival at Golden Gate park..
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Social D was so freaking good, I hope they do it again...
I second that!
How about Tenacious D instead
